Anyone owned a Shoei Glamster...
I realise it is the most wanky name in the world, but after being admonished by Couchy for suggesting I wanted a flip lid, I am compromising on a lighter lid.
My Arai Rebel weights 1790g
My Arai Chaser weighs 1690g
Mt Ducati branded chaser x weighs 1600g
The Glamster is reported in at 1200g

I've an HJC RPHA 11 which is 1300g. I've always used Arai RX7,which is around 1.6.
The HJC is very noticeably lighter than the Arai to wear, but not as plush.

I riding naked bikes, rather than race reps - so was temped by something more designed for the mandlebar user
That said - I do wonder how much difference helmet weight makes - as it is probably more to do with air resistance / pressure pushing my neck backwards

My current Shark Spartan Carbon is 1300 and I'd say its definitely lighter feeling than my last Arai. Shoei/Arai feel more plush though

Since this thread has become one about how helmet weight doesn't matter, and given that, when it comes to kit, everyone traditionally recommends their choice, I'll pitch in and say that I'm happy with my just-bought Arai Quantic - 1650g.

I have a couple of scorpion exo helmets, one with an internal dark visor and one without. I think that the lightest is about 1200g but they both feel really good to wear.

Re: Anyone owned a Shoei Glamster...
Just been to Helmet City and tried a Glamster on.
They are very light - almost unnervingly light. But a good fit.
The sales guy was far from glowing about them - and the internal finish of them did seem as little `"Poundland" compared to my previous Shoei / Arai offerings.
Tried on a Shark carbon lid - I had to size up to XXL and the neck curtain was very claustrophobic (however, as a result, it might work well). Also tried on the HJC Carbon offering - which was very nice indeed. But I didn't buy it !
Maybe once they are in a sale somewhere ....
And don't buy a Glamster ...
