Rust Curer
After the Merc got written off I've replaced it with an older Volvo as a stop-gap until the 2nd hand market calms down a bit - hopefully!
Anyway the rear subframe and under the spare wheel well are a bit rusty - not crumbling but worried that left alone it wouldn't take long.
So my intention is to do something about it this spring once the roads have dried out a bit.
First thought is to use a rust curer of some kind and then apply something like lanoguard over the top of it to prevent it getting worse and then give it another coat of lanogaurd before winter sets in.
Does this sound sensible or should I be looking at something else? - It's only a £2.5k car so don't want to go mad and would prefer to DIY it if I can.
Also what's good for curing rust if I go down that route - I used jenolite back in the day but maybe there's something better these days....

I've used this
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262315923139 ... media=COPY
It does work in the same way as Jenolite in creating a black coat of ferric oxide and also seems to be preventative to some extent.

Re: Rust Curer
I used Hammerite kurust on the chassis of my old Fourtrak and the frames of my K100 and Tenere, works well about £15 250ml bottle but it spreads well .

Re: Rust Curer
I took a car with underbody rust to a local car maintenance place and they simply wire brushed the rusty bits and gave those areas a good going over with old engine oil. (Not enough to drip off or anything silly, just enough to collect a bit of road grot).
