These here 'Custom' bikes from Bikeexif, Bikebound..

Is there any that really have jumped out as 'yeah, perfect'

If so, which one and if not... what would you build yourself instead.

For me, this is bordering on pretty damn close.




Maybe not the pod filters as you lot say nothing ever runs right with them... but if it did... then it's right up there.

But then again, it's got no slipper clutch, QS, etc.... so maybe not...

When I first saw this I thought ooh yes please, then I looked at the bodykit prices and thought ouch


then a few months later after seeing a few CRK conversions this popped up


With prices for T300's low on ebay and lockdown looming I bit the bullet on my big blue shed.

After spending many frustrating hours I realised that it wasn't ever going to be cosmetically good enough to spend a load of cash on so wound back ambition to aiming for something like this


Progress has been slowed by recalcitrance of the bike to run properly sending down rabbit holes with carbs, fuel pipes and ignition coils. Most of the bits I wanted to do are done, just a bar swap to do once the thing is running. If I still like then it will get a cosmetic tidy up but with 45k miles on it i'm not going to be silly.

I've posted this one a few times, but it ticks nearly all the boxes for me....maybe a bit less heavy on the wrists



This one was nearly there, but it needs more sensible wheels/tyres and a front mudguard. Got plenty of cup holders though



There was also that black Guzzi with red highlights, had a 'bar' type rear light. I can't find it now, but it was great!

To be honest not many of those Bikexif / Bikebound bikes appeal & I usually think that they would have been better spending their time & money riding the bikes instead of 'creating'.

That Bimota Ducati that appeared on the forum the other month was stunning
In my eyes these are equal or better than the Bikexif/ Bikebound creations I've seen posted & probably less expensive!

There has been a few i've really liked, but I cant remember which. As much as I may like them, I wouldn#'t want to own a "special". Even on the ones I may not like, I still admire the effort and work gone into them. I like it that people are out building stuff like that...

I think it's great that people are building them & if I lived near London I would have to get to the Bike Shed show.I've got relatives in Sussex & now as I've retired I might make the trek down there for the Brightona bike show.I also bought that Oil in the Blood DVD,about the custom scene,yet despite all this I often end up questioning the time & effort that's gone into them.
However I think those that I posted & the aircooled Ducati are excellent builds.

It's easy to become blasé when there are so many custom shops out there and equally hard to remember what you liked,or didn't.

On the Restomod thang,,I dig AC Santuary's stuff,but not enough to pay their premium prices!

Kawa triple cusoms do it for me too,such as this one.
