Road registering kx 250

Hi everyone
Just wondering of anyone can help me I've just purchased a kx250 2006. The lad I bought it off started to get it road registered he give me the kawasaki age of newness letter. It says on it bike was purchased in UK. Do I still need to contact nova regarding the import taxes? Or can I just get it mot and fill in the v55/5 and send everything to dvla?
