Spin on the thread from the old place. What song did you not realise was a cover version? Post the original.

I'm going to cheat a little, or at least stretch the definition a bit into the grey area of sampling. But, this example goes beyond sampling and is more of a kind of remix/cover really. And also, due to legal action, the samples were removed and replaced with a new vocalist at the last minute anyway.
It's also a good one cos it'll surprise a lot of people. So, here's Love Sensation by Loleatta Holloway, better known by its covered title as Ride on Time by Black Box.
For extra geek points, the 'new' title came from a misheard lyric in the original - it's 'cos you're right on time', but Black Box being Italian, they didn't realise

After the legal hijinks surrounding that, they re-recorded it with Heather Small doing the vocals. But the vocalist for the majority of their stuff was Martha Wash.Slenver wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 9:29 am I'm going to cheat a little, or at least stretch the definition a bit into the grey area of sampling. A fair bit of 90s EDM was basically Martha doing session work.
