The fookin joys

Post by wull »

After spending all that time getting everything sorted on the wife’s bike ready for selling the clutch decides to play up, just as I was getting ready to book it in for its mot. Hopefully this helps, I’ll put it back together tomorrow and then get it booked in if it’s working as it should.

I’ve got someone interested but it needs to be mot’d for them, means I need to borrow the father in laws car with the tow bar and borrow a trailer, no insurance on the bike for riding it to the mot station.

Well it’s done the trick, put it back together last night and it’s now working as it should. I’ll phone up and get it booked in for it’s Mot now.

New friction plates or just a soak?

If you just soaked the originals, I'd have tried tie-wrapping the clutch lever to the bars and leave it a couple of days first.

Just a soak, sat for 2 yrs roughly without running, friction plates and steel plates had obviously stuck together.

That’s a great idea, I’ll do that over the next few days to help it along.
