My vote could be won by

Nationalise Critical National Infrastructure (I fancy a nice fat Civil Service pension)

Big shake up of planning laws to allow solar, wind etc.to be built.
National investment in Energy infrastructure
Allow private school fees to be paid with tax free childcare vouchers. Bit niche that one :D

It is free for you.

Ok, they don't give out grants to everyone, you (means tested) are likely to have to pay accommodation and food etc.

But fees? That's a cost-effective loan. Most students are unlikely to ever pay it (and the exorbitant interest) back. Then, after 30 years, it's written off.

IIRC students & government will have £60 billion owing stacked up in 30 years.

Edit. I was out in that guess :)

Figures from July 2022:

Currently almost £20 billion is loaned to around 1.5 million students in England each year. The value of outstanding loans at the end of March 2022 reached £182 billion. The Government forecasts the value of outstanding loans to be around £460 billion (2021‑22 prices) by the mid-2040s.

The forecast average debt among the cohort of borrowers who started their course in 2021/22 is £45,800 when they complete their course. Forecast debt is expected to be lower for those starting in the reformed system from 2023/24 at £43,400. The Government expected that around 20% of full-time undergraduates starting in 2021/22 would repay them in full. They forecast that after the 2022 reforms this would increase to 55% among new students from 2023/24.

Get foreign investors our of our infrastructure.

Big shake up on MPs expenses.

Shake up on the over funded NHS and the constant waste of our money.

Get the Police do do Policing instead of wokeness and being more interested in rainbows and Policing Twitter

Get rid of woke laws, hate crimes? Standing around watching whilst some petulant mung bean eating, soya bean munching hemp jumper wearing wanker pours milk all over the floor of Waitrose? Useless. Grow a back bone. This country wasn't built on these good for nothing wet mops.

A commitment to find a way back in to the customs union with the EU.

Massive scheme to insulate homes.

Fine businesses for heating or cooling their premises when doors are left open like they do in France.

Investment in renewable energy and energy security - and keep it publicly owned.

Ban fracking.

Remove charity status of private schools.

As train franchises fall for renewal take them back into public ownership.

Stop charging hospital staff to park at work or sort out decent public transport to and from hospitals.

Get rid of the Triple lock pension increase or limit it in such a way as when one of the metrics is as big an outlier as inflation currently is it can not be so far in excess of the other two.

There's a staff shortage in the care sector that is probably going to need immigration rules to be loosened

More autonomy to the devolved regions, this would hopefully result in the SNP becoming more than just a vehicle for trying to get an independence referendum.

Increase inheritance tax rates for bigger estates

That would do for a start - quite a bot to get through in the first 4 years. Something probably needs doing about electoral boundaries too to stop future gerrymandering being quite so effective, oh and can we get rid of Linsey Hoyle as speaker, what a muppet.

All far too sensible.

But yeah I forgot about the EU one. I'm fine with not re-joining, but FFS can we please at least actually follow the agreements we've made?

I'm not down with the inheritance tax, that's just politics of envy. I can't have it, so I don't want anyone else to have it. But we're all entitled to our opinion, I just don't share that one.

From this day on, the official language of San Britannos will be Swedish.

Silence!

In addition to that, all citizens will be required to change their underwear every half-hour. Underwear will be worn on the outside so we can check.

Furthermore, all children under 16 years old are now... 16 years old.

There's a staff shortage because of shit pay, if the care homes paid £100K pa to care assistants there'd be no lack of staff.

When I was leaving the army (a long time ago now) I considered buying a good sized bit of land and growing asparagus.

I did some homework though and it turned out that it wasn't going to be a good earner.

There was simply no real money in it although the tips were good.

It's not, a lot of our ageing population are rich because of house price inflation meaning that younger peoples chances of ever getting on to the housing ladder are greatly reduced in comparison. This ageing population is going to expect funding for health and social care to support them in their later years all whilst younger generations have to work longer and harder to afford spiralling rents.

Probably quite a significant lack of residents though, given what the fees would need to be :D In fact, it'd dramatically reduce demand for places.

You might be on to something....
