Quite pleasant. Don't like the colour scheme much and there's not much clearance on that rear wheel for any serious scrambling. Nice enough for tootling about.

I think 'scrambler' is more a term of aesthetics now rather than a term of riding.Count Steer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 9:15 am Quite pleasant. Don't like the colour scheme much and there's not much clearance on that rear wheel for any serious scrambling. Nice enough for tootling about.

Why anyone would bother reviving one of those gutless, unreliable and charmless lumps is beyond me. Waste of time, effort and money. But Mr. D might like it - it has drum brakes at both ends...

To echo what was said about the R1 yesterday, if Honda made something similar to this - a 125, 250, 400 - I'd probably be interested.
I'd be happy to buy one from them rather than Mash etc. at, say, a premium of about a grand?

It does have the style of the Mash and the other (yellow) bike I posted up on the random thread. I imagine the big markets like Asia need 'soft scrambler' bikes, so that's what we get from the Chinese makers.

I like it, if it were mine it'd get longer mudguards and longer, upwards angled exhausts, but those are minor changes.

Re: RETRO CHIC: SLIPSTREAM’S HONDA CB360 SCRAMBLER
The CL360/CB360 was one of the least reliable bikes Honda ever made. It had major top end oil starvation and camchain issues (the cam ran directly in the head, no bearings) and needed oil changes at half the recommended intervals to even stand a chance of staying in one piece. And even then, using what little performance it had would accelerate its demise. Why anyone chooses a bike like this for a project is beyond me. Possibly because all the good stuff is too expensive?

Yep, that's getting closer but it's India only, I think. There's loads of cool smaller capacity Japanese bikes at the moment that aren't coming over here, but then there always have been I suppose.Ditchfinder wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 9:34 amChrisW wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 9:25 am

Return of the grey import?
I think at one stage all of my mates and I had grey import Jap bikes.

I can hear the camchain rattles from here.

Re: RETRO CHIC: SLIPSTREAM’S HONDA CB360 SCRAMBLER
I think if Royal Enfield put the 411 engine from the Himalayan/Scram 411 into the new Hunter 350 they'd sell a bucket load.
