What type of port is this?
I have just had my old ms surface thing upgraded, but it doesn’t have any USB ports which means I can’t plug my camera or scanner into it! Can you get adapters for this type of port to usb?

USB-C port innit?
If so Yes you can get adapters to USB-A (big rectangle one) and USB-B (the smaller one that seems to be being phased out)

Re: What type of port is this?
Might be more useful to get a get multi adapters with numerous different ports (i've got one driven by a USB-C male that has additional USB-A female, USB-C female, HDMI female and network sockets). A lot of new lappies seem to come with very few ports. This sort of thing
there's various options

I use one the these on my Surface - gives HDMI, USB 3.0, SD and TF.

Speaking of USB connections, my Garmin watch has what I thought was a type C but it has 4 distinct pins in the connector and is narrower and 'fatter'. Is this specific to them or is it a standard type for a waterproof 'socket' or....?
(Thought I ought to buy a spare as it's the only one like that I have).

Would need a photo, but it might be proprietary, or another of the USB variants.Count Steer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 1:35 pm Speaking of USB connections, my Garmin watch has what I thought was a type C but it has 4 distinct pins in the connector and is narrower and 'fatter'. Re: What type of port is this?
From a dig around it looks like a specific Garmin charging/data cable. Cheap copies appear to be available...the Garmin ones are I'll do a pic later.Rockburner wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 1:40 pmWould need a photo, but it might be proprietary, or another of the USB variants.Count Steer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 1:35 pm Speaking of USB connections, my Garmin watch has what I thought was a type C but it has 4 distinct pins in the connector and is narrower and 'fatter'. I guess it's all to do with waterproof devices.
