I have a cheap one. Not like wish.com or anything like that but prolly off the shelf at the supermarket. Obviously I also use axle stands as I'm not mental but thinking about it they're also cheap ones from the supermarket. Belt and braces anyway.

I have a Halfords one. From previous experience they tend to last between 6 and 10 years before the seals start leaking and I buy a new one.
Current one is a low profile which I bought to fit under a BMW iirc. They don't lift as high and this particular one won't lift the front wheels of my VW Crafter off the ground so I have to use a block of wood between jack and sill.

Thats my worry with a low entry, it wont have enough height to lift my camper up.Druid wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:43 pm I have a Halfords one. From previous experience they tend to last between 6 and 10 years before the seals start leaking and I buy a new one.

Specs will usually quote max. lift so you can check if it's enough lift, but you won't need a low entry for the camper

Re: Recommend me a 3 tonne trolley jack
I bought a standard budget one as my two ton jack couldn't lift the transit high enough to remove a wheel.
It was about 4 times the size and weight of the 2 ton and apart from trying to move the thing it was perfect.

The mighty Duster has high ground clearance. So carry various sized wooden lumps to sit the jack on.Taipan wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:48 pmThats my worry with a low entry, it wont have enough height to lift my camper up.Druid wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:43 pm I have a Halfords one. I would have needed a block of wood several inches thick for the transit, every scenario I ran through in my head ended in disaster.

I always carry four 3ft planks to put under the wheels if we ever get stuck.
I lift the car with those if necessary.

Did Iron Bru Freak tell you where to get the planks?

This is looking like the winner! Will chuck some new stands in as well.

Re: Recommend me a 3 tonne trolley jack
I've had a Clarke jack for around 15yrs now - not that exact one, it's a little less compact. You'll not go wrong with it.
