It's like 1995 all over again, wee screaming 250 IL4s that blew themselves to bits didn't work well then and won't work any better now.

I thought it wouldn't pass emissions anyway?

40 horses does sound like fun. I bet it's fairly light too.

I love little bikes like that,but they make me RLAC,so long term ownership would not be good for my health.

I assume its aimed at the A2 license holders but Kawasaki already have the Ninja 400 at 44 bhp thats compliant with the A2 license so where is the gap in the market apart from its a screaming little engine

The 400 is a shopping bike, I think the 250 is much more premium product.

Got to smile at the graph. My humble little 47 bhp CB500X hardly ever goes over 7500 rpm and that 250 is delivering 15 bhp at those revs.

I guess it would be huge fun for a week then the novelty would wear off.

I wonder if they could do a deal for Moto3 like the one for Moto2.

Did they really go bang? IDK, I was never interested in the 250s then as 400s were biggerer.

I don't think it will pass emissions. I think the market for it is further east, where 250cc licensing still exists.

Doesn't moto3 already have a deal with Honda for the CBR250 engine? Since it's meant to be a more affordable class, I think a single makes more sense.

I thought the motors were by various manufacturers.

But for economy, could a twin be more reliable than a single ? I do remember how they struggled to make them reliable at first.

This isn't a twin, it's a screaming Inline 4!

That's what makes it more special than all the other 250/300 shopping bikes.

Yup, they did, mainly due to rider error and bad/no servicing, the things were usually bounced off the limiter in every gear to hear the screaming. I saw the remains of a CBR250RR engine that had blown up, you'd swear someome had packed C4 in it and let rip.

Back into he late 80's all the way to the late 90's 250 inline fours were a big deal in Japan due to their licensing laws. They had all the quality bits the 1000's we got in the UK had, but were smaller, they got alloy frames, twin disks, full fairings and revved to eleventy two million rpm.

The little Honda redlined at 22k.

Moto3 engines are built by Honda and KTM although they did have Mahindra as well up to a couple of years ago.

The engines in the class are 250 cc singles and amazingly noisy in the flesh

Yep, twin headlight first model. Last I checked there was only 23 in the country.
Probably let it go for 2.5k, although it owes me more.
