WTF happens next?
Russia has invaded Ukraine, and now looks set for a war of attrition. It has also disrupted gas supplies to the west, grain supplies to the world, and oil is restricted and we are all paying the price. Arguably all this is a distraction for the Russian people, to stop them wondering WTF they need to do to get rid of him and his cronies and get some of the goodies distributed a bit more evenly.
Meanwhile China is making noises about Taiwan, probably because all is not sweetness and light in China itself. Lockdowns persist (and a Chinese lockdown is a bit more stringent than a UK lockdown), and the banking system is creaking, with a major bank default a very real possibility.
Is the world order going to go tits up, and if so is it going to be with a bang or a whimper? Or will it all fizzle out, and the old order continue for a few more decades ?

Personally I've had enough of it. There's meant to be a war in Ukraine, but all we see are glamourised photos of him and his wife in lovely offices, in Vouge, U2 doing gigs there. I'm beginning to think we're all having the piss taken out of us.

The alien landlords turn up, take one look at the place, kick us all out and change the locks.
Then relets it to a potentially evolving bunch of nice, young, non-smoking, non-pet owning amoeboid types from somewhere out near the Tannhäuser Gate.

Aye, it's always a bit odd when a government tries to use complaints against other countries to keep it's own internal issues hidden isnt it?

We just all live in bliss over here in the west and other lucrative countries and think it won't happen to us.
It's coming!
Population is now getting to breaking point and we are all waking up to that realisation, why do you think rich fuckers like Musk, Gates etc are making spaceships!
Sorry to be so negative but this is the politics section and i'm a straight talking man!...

Re: WTF happens next?
This is all kid's stuff compared to the start of the 20th century surely? Yeah we've got wars but not proper ones.
Also, world population growth rate peaked 60 years ago and haa been dropping pretty consistently ever since. Population is still going up but the rate at which its doing so is going down. If the trend continues world population will start shrinking towards the end of this century.

That's a global comparison and not accurate at all to the growth of certain countries in todays world!Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 10:40 pm This is all kid's stuff compared to the start of the 20th century surely? Yeah we've got wars but not proper ones.

And the growth of population has nothing to do with the overall population we already have! For instance India has increased massively in a short space of time, no matter how many powerpoints you throw at me it's a fact, we are overpopulated!
We are over populated, the major factor no-one wants to talk about these days!

It is the cause of all our problems, but I'm afraid our leaders believe it's a problem we'll dicuss tomorrow.

The Gray Goo/Plague will get us when Chinese Nanobots are badly programmed, get loose and can't be stopped, despite a panic response with nukes and within days all biomass on the planet is consumed by the self replicating Nanobots.
