Can I connect a landline phone to my router and use it as a voip

Got a huawei cube router and a couple of mobiles, but reception is poor here, so there's a lot of ' can you still hear me?'
Was wondering if a digital phone would double up as a VoIP? We can use WhatsApp etc so I know our 4g is strong enough for VoIP.

Check to see if your mobile allows calls over mobile data/wi-fi - this will be easier than setting up a voip line

Depends on the router, some of them have analogue voice ports, and it will have to register with a VOIP provider

Voip is still hit and miss over 4G. Some carriers cope with it better than others. You would need to buy a voip service and port your landline across to it.
Alternatively, cancel your landline and get the number ported to a provider that can point your landline to a mobile.

I used to have a box from
https://www.vonage.co.uk/ that connected a normal landline phone to a VoIP account. It worked well and must have been fairly cheap as I used it instead of getting a second line.

Just enable Wi-fi calling. Needs to be done on your phone as well as with your provider but sorts the issue.
I had to move from giffgaff who didn't support it, but all the main first party providers do. Meant that I could ditch the landline and go from very, very patchy mobile signal to perfect calls/texts via WiFi.
