Dainese leather jacket and trousers, never used
I have for sale a Dainese 2 piece suit comprising matching jacket and zip together trousers in black/grey/silver. There is no body armour or back protector but shoulders, elbow and knees have hard plastic external protectors. To the best of my knowledge this suit has never been worn. It's a size 50, which I believe translates to a UK size 40.
The back story is as follows...
When I bought my house in France in 2003 I was friends with a guy who was keen to move to France. So we had an informal deal that he could live in the French house rent-free but all bills were his responsibility and he'd be expected to do maintenance and refurbishment work around the house. This arrangement broke down almost immediately and I wound up paying for him to live rent-free in my house. After a couple of years he (thankfully) moved out, leaving a lot of his stuff behind. This Dainese suit is part of that stuff. It's never been worn because he has never owned a motorbike and doesn't have a licence but fancied getting one and bought this suit in preparation. So I'm flogging it as it's been cluttering our place up for too long.
It's got to be at least 15 years old but has always been kept in a dry atmosphere and is in as-new condition. As I'd like it gone sharpish, I'll take £100 for it, plus whatever it costs for shipping. If you can collect it from either Sheffield or Stafford that would be ideal.
As I can't seem to add any more attachments, I'll put them in a second post.

How many people in this forum could fit in a 40" set of leathers?

Sizing confuses me.
What is a size 40 UK? What waist size and leg length are the troos and what chest size the jacket?

Re: Dainese leather jacket and trousers, never used
In the spirit of scientific enquiry I decided to try and get into the jacket, having failed previously. I did actually manage to get the zip engaged and done up, but I won't be posting photographs... Suffice it to say that if I didn't have a gut the chest size would fit me fairly well. However due to how tight it was around my midriff I doubt I'd even be able to get on the bike, let alone ride it. 40 is a Medium size, but slightly skinny Medium I would say.
When I've recovered. I'll try the troos on...

Re: Dainese leather jacket and trousers, never used
I am interested in these but the sizing is a bit confusing.
Do you know the waist size and leg length on the trousers?
i am 32 inch waist, 29/30 inside leg and 40uk/50 euro chest.

Re: Dainese leather jacket and trousers, never used
Sorry for being slack. As best as I can measure waist size is 41-42 cm/32-33 inches. The trousers might fit a 34" waist but it would be 'snug'. Inside leg length is 29 inches/73.5 cm. Like the jacket, the only sizing information that Dainese give is '50'. Not very helpful really...

40uk is more 30” waist, so 40” chest and 30” waist.
46uk = 46” chest 36” waist
44uk = 44” chest 34” waist
And so on, that’s my experience with suits over the years.

Re: Dainese leather jacket and trousers, never used
I'm probably one of the few it would have fitted. 30" waist and 40' chest.
I didn't need it,though. A fine bargain.
