It's on Tuesday isn't it? Probably not much more than appreciating a good sunset (if we get one).

Maybe I should go and see Milton Keynes henge

On Midsummer's day the sun rises/sets exactly in line with the aptly named Midsummer Boulevard in central MK. And all the other Boulevards, which run parallel to Midsummer

Our summer yet in relation to the sun distance wise we are at or just went by the aphelion stage. Purely down to the tilt of the earth. Iirc perihelion is early January, I think.

He means the northern hemisphere is actually furthest away from the Sun in Summer (furthest as is, furthest it gets in a year 'cause the Earth's orbit isn't a perfect circle). It's all about the angles, not the distance.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the earliest sunrise for the year is June 14. (at 40° North Latitude*). Actually, the sunrise times are listed at 5:30 a.m. every day from June 11th through the 17th, but it will actually rise a few seconds earlier on the 14th than it does on the 13th or the 15th.

Yeah aphelion when the earth is the farthest distance from the sun and perihelion when it’s at its closest. Something like 94,5 million miles versus 91.4 when it’s at its closest, which is during our winter months. But because of the tilt we don’t get the benefits of it, albeit apparently the difference in miles is negligible.

Riding with MTB buddies up to Chantonbury Ring nr Steyning - where we will have a BBQ session and a beer - and then ride home.
I have made some fermented very hot chilli sauce for the occasion!

My wife found a recording of the 1984 Hawkwind performance at Stonehenge, it looked unhygienic and everyone was thin back then.
