Not so keen on the seat & rear mudguard or that toast rack on top of the tank, but other than that,it looks like a nice retro ride.
The sort of bike you would ride on one of those 'Distinguished gentlemans rides'

The same bike but not in that colour, you say? You're in luck!
Have to say I quite like them.

Quite like it but.................
It needs twin clocks
The back end looks sawn off
And both colours are 'orrible, turd brown or goose-shit green.
Touring it is not, unless your man follows in the car with the luggage.

Were the colours picked by British Leyland?

Fix the sawn off rear end, give it a RH mirror and a rev counter, repaint it in British Racing Green and I'm in.

Prefer that one. A bit less blingy shiny things. Some very nice touches/well engineered bits and bobs but there's a mirror missing. As Busta said, perfect for the Gentleman's Rides but the back end needs finishing if you're going out in the wet. I like the 'Grand Tour' luggage, perfect for two pairs of chuddies and a toothbrush.

Does it really need a steering damper ? But yeah he shouldn't be let near the paint brushes again

You're going to get a wet back, it's not a 'tourer'

Probably very nice, but it might as well have been painted beige, as there are no discerning features for me at all!
