Oh bloody hell!! So so tempted but also have reservations about owning something so specialised. Also, SWMBO would kill me if I bought a 16 yr old car, regardless of how fantastic I think it is.

Someday I will own a 500bhp+ V8 (before petrol is a thing of the past), but the B5 has two doors too many :)

Lovely thing tho', the E60 was the last 'butch' 5er.

Well done. I was seriously tempted. Always fancied a M5 but your B5 is stunning.
You selling it actually solved my headache

`the B5 is quicker than an M5 has 136 ftlbs more torque and the M5 is limited to 165

I don't doubt it. I'd want a newer model M5, I wouldn't buy a '06 M5. But as I said, your B5 looks special and I would have made an exception for that. Glad you sold it and hope the new owner looks after it.

Me, back on the hunt for a new car :D

If I were rich I’d have that, absolutely love it. I’ve had a 500+ car before but this is sheer class.

So, my hunt for a new car seems to have ended. I sold my A45 to a dealer on Friday for £3k more than we buy any car offered.

Yesterday put a deposit down on a my2017 Jaguar XFS 3.0 V6 petrol. I'm slumming it on the train Tuesday for 3.5 hours to pick it up and I'll have a good drive back, weather permitting by cutting across country and heading down through mid wales.

I hadn't seen a petrol XFS, looks interesting. I've had my diesel one for longer than I normally keep cars and not seen anything I'd want to swap it for yet.
I had a quick look at a review and this sounded very familiar:
Autocar wrote:The gearbox is the familiar eight-speed ZF auto with paddles for manual shifts. For the most part it’s a smooth gearbox, although it does share the same hesitancy when pulling away from a standstill that seems to blight Jaguars.
This is a pain and can make pulling out of junctions awkward, I found the fix is to leave it in drive with the handbrake on so when you press the accelerator it releases the brake and goes much quicker.

It's actually been a non problem, so much better and smoother than my Mercedes. The XFS itself sounds great, drives great and can really get down the road for a big car. Very pleased so far (would have loved the B5 though)
