Lydden Track day Saturday 7th May
With no Limits- here
https://www.nolimitstrackdays.com/uk-tr ... 1651881600
Currently plenty of availability in all groups- I'll be there- is anyone else going / or fancy it?
I did a day there last year and loved it- it's a short lap and doesn't have the greatest amount of run-off in some places, but is top fun on any bike IMO, great for spectators and differs in the organisation from most others in that they run straight through from 0900 to 1500 with no breaks, and don't feck about waiting for all of you to line up before they let you out, so although there are 4 groups track time is good, or at least it was last year, and it's cheaper than most are now- £119 on a Saturday
Here's a view from my old 390 last time there

I love Lydden, it's great fun, but I don't currently have a suitable bike ready to go, my 1170 Kawasaki would be great fun round there, but is pissing petrol at the moment.

Go to London, keep going east down the M2, if you get to Dover you've gone a little bit too far.Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 10:12 pm I'm out... wrong weekend plus I don't know where it is.

I've never been to the South East. Is it normal.

Re: Lydden Track day Saturday 7th May
Little bump in case anyone here is at a loose end this Saturday and fancies some decent value tracktime, or just a nice road ride down into deepest Kent to watch others going round and round
https://www.nolimitstrackdays.com/uk-tr ... 1651881600
There are still places available in all groups by the look of it, and crucially I've sorted it so that the weather will be decent

Depends what you call a suitable bike I guess- I say that you do have a very suitable one - rumour has it there might even be a very unsuitable 900cc 3-wheeler there you could show the way around tooLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 9:17 am I love Lydden, it's great fun, but I don't currently have a suitable bike ready to go, my 1170 Kawasaki would be great fun round there, but is pissing petrol at the moment.

Still not seen one out n about...Reckon you've got to be a proper thick skinned hooker to ride one of them.

Wish I could come, but I'm now booked on taxi driver duties carting annoying teenagers about, and in a bit of irony, Kawasaki is running well and not kissing petrol since I have the carbs a clean on Monday.

Re: Lydden Track day Saturday 7th May
If Lydden was a slightly less journey from here I'd definitely come along for a couple of hours to watch that. Pix will be anticipated.Tricky wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 6:46 pmDepends what you call a suitable bike I guess- I say that you do have a very suitable one - rumour has it there might even be a very unsuitable 900cc 3-wheeler there you could show the way around tooLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 9:17 am I love Lydden, it's great fun, but I don't currently have a suitable bike ready to go, my 1170 Kawasaki would be great fun round there, but is pissing petrol at the moment.

There's no guarantee said three wheeler will make an appearance, though ....Tricky wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 6:46 pmDepends what you call a suitable bike I guess- I say that you do have a very suitable one - rumour has it there might even be a very unsuitable 900cc 3-wheeler there you could show the way around tooLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 9:17 am I love Lydden, it's great fun, but I don't currently have a suitable bike ready to go, my 1170 Kawasaki would be great fun round there, but is pissing petrol at the moment.
Depending on who you believe, the weather gods will not be smiling tomorrow and, whilst it won't be full- on biblical precipitation, the prospect of doing 100/120 miles each way in showery conditions and the possibility of more of the same at the track until early pm is not filling this old fecker with eager anticipation of a fun day out.
Part of me thinks it would be a good experience for both me and the carriage and would almost certainly provide entertainment for the rest of the paddock.....and the other part of me thinks it's a bridge too far.
I guess you won't know until @Tricky updates this thread tomorrow

Thought weather was ok tomorrow... who knows.
Anyway, 50% more grip and all that.

Re: Lydden Track day Saturday 7th May
This silly twit learnt that his zx7r wouldn’t out corner a RS250 at Lyden, I think I spent most of the day in 2nd and 3rd. Cracking little track with gradient change.

Is it possible we may have some 3 wheeler track footage.

Re: Lydden Track day Saturday 7th May
I think a Niken would be good round Lydden, nice wide bars and double the front grip, though it could also end in big tears if you run out of lean angle, I was scraping the pegs on my supermoto round the bend at the bottom of the hill.
