Hello
As much as I love my Tuono I think I’m pushing 60 and getting too old for a sports bike!!!!!

Been out on it today for the first time this year and I had to fold myself onto it and after about 100 miles my knees, wrists and shoulders ache.
Now what has the stomp of a Tuono and the comfort of a tourer
Multistrada
1290 KTM Super Adventure S
BMW of some description
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Steve

I'm holding out as long as poss. The GSXR is fine if I straighten my legs for a bit every half hour,

I didn't think the Tuono was a sportsbike. I thought it was a bike with sporting pretensions and some comfort for oul bois?
Like me.

As a sporty do anything bike with tourer ergos, I think you can't beat a Multistrada.
I'd take a Multi on a trackday, I probably wouldn't take a KTM Adventure.

Tracer 900 if you still want more comfort and a bigish thing with grunty fun engine but wind protection
If you're not worried about a fairing, get yourself a go on a 790 or 890 Duke- very similar engine character and as much stomp as a.( V2) Tuono, but not such high pegs and so much smaller and lighter feeling- don't discount it until you've ridden one I'd say, it may well suprise you .
Multis and 1290SAs are great, but they are still relatively big old buses, important when you are an achy old fecker!

Well I don't want to go all new age hippy on you, but if I were you, my first port of call would be yoga. A few weeks of yoga and you might well find that you can still fit on the tuono.

Likewise, without appearing preachy, keeping yourself reasonably fit will allow you to enjoy things you like to do for longer. I like riding my bike better than eating stuff I don't need,so that's what I do. Maybe you need to find a lifestyle which works for you, rather than trying to find a bike that doesn't hurt.

This is a bit weird, as I'm effectively Tuono-ising my Falco for just the same reasons as you - old bones complaining. But at 60, you are technically still a whippersnapper...

Hi
Thanks for replies so far.
I am actually reasonably fit for my age and am a regular mountain biker.
Normal weight and healthy diet with only moderate drinking.
Admittedly maybe not as flexible as I could be so maybe I could try some stretching/yoga.
Went out again on it today and was fine for the first hour then the wrists started to ache followed by the shoulders.
After about 3 hours and a stop to stretch my legs I found my legs starting to stiffen to the point that rolling to a stop became awkward.
I also have a KTM 890R Adventure and don’t have the same issues riding this bike so it must be the more crouched riding position.
Anyway I’ll start with some stretching and go from there
Cheers
Steve

Your wrists and shoulders shouldn't be doing any work. Try taking weight on hips and knees gripping on tank.
