There's mine for the day.... chosen because after Mrs Weeksy had a lay-off from bike and sold her 748S, i ended up buying this from an old forum member for i think £150, maybe £250 i can't recall exactly, but it was cheap... cheap and rough. Had to drag it off the van as it wouldn't roll..

However, after 4 weeks of sorting, cleaning, spannering, painting, spraying, replacing.... She absolutely hated it... so much... It never got used again and i shipped it out on Gumtree.

But it still has a special little place for me.

I'll stretch the 80s a bit. I always wanted a Suzuki 750 GT (Kettle) and was >< that close to buying one. Never did get to ride one so I could see myself making an impulse project purchase.

I keep toying with the idea of getting one of these or an LC, but they fetch crazy prices and I just can't justify that amount of money sitting as a garden ornament for most of the time. @Taipan I still don't understand why you don't have a more suitable storage option than under a cover in the garden ? It's not like motorbikes are a new thing to you or likely to go away. Not even a shed type building to work in, just, a bit strange ?

@Taipan I still don't understand why you don't have a more suitable storage option than under a cover in the garden ? It's not like motorbikes are a new thing to you or likely to go away. Not even a shed type building to work in, just, a bit strange ?

Simple really, a bike for me is just transport, so it sits locked to aground anchor out the front of the house. If bikes were my hobby then I'd have a suitable shed/workshop in the back garden. I have been wanting to build a big shed/garden room/covered area thing for some time, but the projects such as a new kitchen (done) and new bathroom (scheduled) have taken priority. Maybe later this year I will get round to it? But, tbh, even if I do, I still can't see myself having thousands of pounds worth of toy sitting in here for the occasional outing? The nearest I'd get is a project bike to rebuild, but i'd probably sell it once it was done.

The first "big bike" I rode post test. It was my Mum's but became a "family" bike that her, my brother and I shared before we got our own. Great bike.

I hanker after two 80s bikes.

The first is the GPZ750 Turbo. I never owned one, but a mate had one, and I rode it. It was the first really quick bike I'd ridden, and it sparked off an addiction to BHP that I have never shaken off.

The second is the FJ1200. I never had one of those either. But I did have an FJ1100. It was a joyous grunty mile muncher, and I loved it. It had problems with the straight cut dogs on 2nd gear. I changed 2nd twice and then gave up. When I moved house I gave it to someone on the old site. Can't recall who it was. Always ment to get a 1200 at some point, as the 2nd gear issue was fixed on the 12s, I think
