Alvaro Bautista and Garrett Gerloff top one session apiece during day-one of the Misano WorldSBK test.

Garrett Gerloff continued his impressive pace from Aragon to finish the opening session of Misano WorldSBK testing quickest, but it’s Aruba.it Ducati rider Alvaro Bautista who ended the day top.

The GRT Yamaha rider and Bautista spent most of the day first and second, while a slender margin of +0.013s split the two riders at one stage.

Gerloff led the way with a time of 1:34.419s at the lunch break, however, a time of 1:33.983s from Bautista was enough to put him -0.393s clear of the American with just under two hours remaining.

One idly wonders if Gerloff will manage to temper his aggression, yet get some good results. The slap from Yamaha last season really seemed to take the wind out of his sails.

Alvaro should be a threat for the championship....if he can stay on the thing.

That’s it, stop those front end tucks, lost count of the amount of times he lost the front in 2019.

I think it’ll be another exciting year.

Alvaro Bautista finished the final day of WorldSBK testing at Misano quickest, while 2022 rookie Philipp Oettl was top rookie for a second consecutive day after claiming fourth overall.

After battling throughout day-one for top spot, Garrett Gerloff and Bautista renewed their fight to see who would finish the Misano WorldSBK test fastest, but not before impressive rookie Oettl topped the opening session.

Fifth fastest on day-one, Oettl immediately improved his lap time by over seven tenths as he set a 1:34.214s.

Gerloff was a further tenth of a second back in second, while Scott Redding enjoyed a much better start to day-two - the new BMW rider was only tenth out of 12 riders come the end of Wednesday’s running.

They're going to have to go well to take Bautista assuming he doesn't have a meltdown this time.

Looks like a tight 3 way scrap between Bautista, Rea and Turkish Delight...

Have they ever been any good? They just seem to be there to make up the numbers. I can see toys being thrown out of Scott's pram before long.

Apparently prior to Michael VD Mark winning a wet race in Oct 2021, their most recent previous win was in 2013. So, more than a bit shit then.

Mikey VDM had a face on him like Rossi when he tripped over his cock and signed for Ducati,he knew it was a mistake, other than for his bank balance.
