FTR1200
Anyone ridden one ? Had the KTM a year now and I only ever get out for an hour or so once or twice a month so don’t need a bike capable of so much more. I don’t ride quick but do like a lively bike that likes to wheelie. I think the FTR looks ace especially with high level pipes.
So has anyone ridden one ?, I’ve got a demo this week so will find out but others views are always interesting before I dismiss them

I think the FTR is pretty cool, but you'll fuck the clutch big stylee trying to pop monos.

Don't forget a lot of modern ECU's limit the power in 1st and sometimes 2nd.
I reckon it's a 2nd gear clutch up job.

There’s 3 dealers local so more than Ducati. Reading owners forums the new Indians seem to have very few issues and nowhere near as many as Ducati. I like the FTR, the look, the quality and the general concept. What would stop me buying one is the stupid wheel rim sizes which severely limit tyre choice. The OE tyres reportedly have next to no grip at all, even on a dry road, yet it's a punchy engine (characteristics and figures are comparable to a 990 Superduke) and a highly capable chassis. It should be a riot and it's crying out for sticky sports rubber but they won't fit and you're stuck with hard, wooden and skatey semi-knobblie flat-tracker lookie-likie rubbish that'll put you in a ditch and kill you if you even try use a fraction of the bike's capabilities. It would drive me mad.

Same weight as my 1090 adventure, lighter than a lot of adventure bikes and the VFR800. Less than 5% heavier than a sports bike too. Weight is low down as tank is under seat. I've really liked these since they were announced. Krazy Horse in Bury have several and they look really really nice. If I just wanted a toy and had the money then why not. They look well put together too. I doubt it'll be as capable as the 1090 all round, but should be bags of fun. Tests I read mentioned lots of wheel spin as the huge torque overwhelmed the tyres.
