Good. It sounds as if common sense is prevailing - for once? I couldn't help smiling at this bit, though: "the speed reductions began to be implemented at a rapid pace". Shouldn't they have done them slowly? After all, speed kills.

Yes, they seemed to me to be correct for 'drive on the left'.

Known as 'perceptual countermeasures'.
Been trialled in Australia, New Zealand and Scotland, to my knowledge. Didn't know about the Austrian trial though.
