What have you bought for bicycle today?

A new Honey Badger Tyre for my Curtis after a Sarf Dahns flint ripped a hole in the middle of the tread I could nearly stick my finger through. £51 from Italy as that's the only place that has the slightly heavier versions with sidewall armour. I also had a 4 mile walk home as my spare tube had developed a puncture sitting in my pack and I had stupidly forgotten the puncture repair kit when I swapped all my bits over to my new pack a few week ago.

A second set of wheels and a cassette for the Trek. Exactly the same as the set and cassette as is on there now. They're e-mtb specific Bontrager wheels, Powerline 40's, and the wheels and cassette, a 12 speed SRAM, came to less than £300 all in.

The bike came with a set of Schwalbe Nobby Nick tyres that were rubbish in mud, so I stuck a set of Magic Mary's on and hung the Nobby Nick's up in the garage. But mud is in short supply now and the Magic Mary's are a very blocky and slow running for the dry conditions so I want to try the Nobby Nick's and see how they do and it's easier to swap wheels back and forwards than swapping tyres on the one set of wheels. Plus the bearings in the current rear wheel are starting to get a bit notchy so I can do those, or get the LBS to do it, at my leisure.

I'm thinking of similar but will likely go down the Hope Pro4 route and have interchangability between all the bikes then too.

New knee pads to replace my Kyle straits (well sort of, boy #1 is using the straits now).

Review well and use the newer 3do type padding.

One of these. Not sure the link will work but needed something to secure my phone to the bars so I didnt have to keep start/stopping. Went for the pro with the waterproof covering

I have the quadlock on my mtn bike and also a mount in the car. Both of them are absolutely rock solid, i've thrown a fair bit of off road bumpy trails and my phone just doesn't move. They're expensive but great quality. As my phone is meant to be water resistant, i haven't bothered using the cover yet.

Three rides now with quad lock and its fantastic. It takes me a lot less time to realise I've gone the wrong way and its absolutely solid. Took a spill earlier in the week and it didn't budge.

Tracing an annoying drivetrain noise, having rebuilt my single speed during lockdown, eventually replaced the freewheel which fixed it.
Along the way it also had new bottom bracket and chain ....

Crank Brothers Candy pedals
I've been using the Mallets for years and the springs are worn, particularly on the left pedal to the point where they're unclipping a bit too easily.

The platform on these is a bit smaller than I expeced so I'm undecided on whether I've going to use these as is or in effect to a full refresh of the mallets and swap the mallet platform onto the Candy's

and a few other bits and pieces

New brake pads from Noah & Theo. No idea if they're any good as I've never used them before. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Which model pad? I like their white Kevlar race matrix. Use them lots.

That's good to hear as I'd never heard of them. I got the ceramic sintered though I can't remember why I chose them.
