Woke up this morning to loads of it !!!!
Happily for us it was only 1 specific user and the 'new user' restrictions meant that none of you lot were ever even aware of it as until their first few posts get approved, then we don't see anything they post.
So user was banned and posts removed... But we've not had such an effort before, we've only had smatterings of 1 here, 1 there as the registration process helps lots with spammers.
They were very insistent though this time for sure.

Back when I dabbled with search engine optimisation i discovered a website can score better if there are links to it on genuine websites and forums, so a link here is worth many links on a link farm.
They probably aren't interested in anyone from here responding, it's about Google seeing it.
That doesn't make it any better for you but explains why something that looks pointless to you may still be worth their time, until they realise none of it is ever going live then they may give up human effort.
