I'll be treating the MT-07 to new boots in the next month or so, and as I ride in straight lines more than I go round bends, sport touring tyres are a better bet for me. It currently has BT023s on which I like. No dramas from them in wet weather and more than enough grip in the bendy bits for this slow boy. Am I missing out though? Are there better ones out there with even more longevity and even better grip?

I've got Pirelli Diablo Strada on my Trumpet, they appear to round and black with the bonus that I haven't fell off. Used in all weathers with no issues.

Sure others will say you need the latest most expensive rubber otherwise you will certainly die though.

TBH, I doubt it really matters - they will all be a lot better at everything than most of us are here !

Bridgestone S22 or Pirelli Rosso 3’s

My GSX has got Pirelli Angel GTs they're very good in the wet, better than the stupid treaded race tyres I've got fitted to most of my other bikes.
My FZ has a Metzeler Roadtec on the front, it's a good tyre, again better than the stupid Conti race tyre that was on there before.

I've got Pirelli Angel GT 2 on my RT. No complaints on handling, grip or comfort. Only lasted 6k rider only miles on a variety of roads, both front and rear are noticeably squared off.

I've got BT023s on my CBR and I ain't fallen of that yet neeever.

Real bonus was that I got 'em cheap on offer though Main criteria for a sports touring tyre I reckon.

I put Michelin Pilot Road 2s on and MT07 last year principally because they were what Demon Tweeks had in stock that day. They either suit me or the bike much better than the BT023s that it came with. They lasted 6k whilst the Michelins have done 3k so far and are certainly wearing better.

Another vote for pirelli angels, though I still have the older st's on mine.

On a budget or don't need the latest then Diablo Strada/Angel or pilot Rd 2.

Latest pick Pilot Rd 5, Angel Gts, metzler roadtech 01, conti roads, etc.

Or if you're happy with the Bridgestone then get them.

I like the pirellis personally for the Rockster.

I've always liked Bridgestones. I used to like the 010f 020r set up on bikes. I'll probably just get another set of 023s as, like me, they're cheap! Just thought i'd start some bike related content and see whats what etc...

Michelin PR [insert latest version]
As said above most tyres are much better than us these days but the PR3's and PR4's I've used have been noticeably more confidence inspiring in the wet. I also like Angel GTs

Michelin PR5s for me

I used too swear by Bridgestones too, but the last set (on the VFR) went 'off' very badly. Still plenty of tread left but the back just kept sliding out. I am by no means a fast rider and the roads were damp, but half a dozen 'moments' in one ride was more than enough. New PR5s sorted that, and the new baby Honda has them as standard,

Nobody who's anybody has less than Road 6's. This is a tyre that causes couriers to pull up alongside you at the lights and say, "Nice tyres, mate". (True actually!). Therefore worth every penny of the extra hundred quid or so they cost over an older model

Has anyone recent changed from Pilot Power to Pilot road tyres? Just curious to know if the Roads feel much different.

I love the feel and security of the powers,but they don't last long. However I'd prefer that to a good lasting tyre I don't trust.
