Anyone else starting to think, plan, sort for the coming spring ?

I've been getting all motorbikey in the last few days...

today is sorting out visors so i've got the right ones on the right helmets, the right pinlocks etc.

Along with that i've had both the ZX6 and the MT07 on the NOCO charger and both bikes are booked in at dealers in the next week or so for servicing.

I've dug out the parts for the tail end on the MT07.

The ZX6 apart from the servicing is not getting anything planned though yet as it's all still up in the air. However it will 100% be ready to roll come spring.

I've messaged the boys about a spring weekend in Wales in June.... so waiting for feedback there.

Yeah I need to start thinking about giving the bike a once-over. Brake rebuild, a bit of lubrication, maybe even a wash.

Like I say, no MOTs for bikes over here, so you have to force yourself to be rather more proactive rather then putting it off til never.
I'm not putting it in for servicing - they'd probably laugh anyway.

I'll book my Sprint in for the rear suspension linkages and possibly valve clearance check, also need to swap the rear tyre on to a new rim I have as corrosion has eaten most of the paintwork.
Other than that I'll just keep riding it as I do every year.....

My bike is blocked in by a mountain of builder's and plumbing stuff at the back of the garage,I haven't even seen it for weeks. The few plans I had for Winter tweaks look increasingly less likely for some time yet.

There needs to be a major garage clear out and it needs to be soon.

Still need to throw a few cosmetic bits on it which were bought last year, but other than that it's good to go.

Definitely. I thought this weekend I would wash the furry mouldy dead flies off the KTM from my last ride.

My biggest plan is taking early retirement in 3 weeks
In May we're doing a tour in Scotland,due to the pandemic it got postponed from last year.
I take the Street Triple out for a gentle spin most weeks,everything seems good.I'll give it a good Spring going over when I retire,new Chain & Sprockets plus grease up the suspension linkages.

Doing the forks for the 1000 just now, got the brakes to arse about with and work out what clip ons I want to get.

I’ll be using the 1000 next week because the wife needs the car so better get my arse in gear and get the forks done.

I also have the 600 to sort out ready for selling, I’ve took the headers off so going to clean the exhaust and the engine then once it’s all back together it will be going up for sale.

I have some new parts to fit to the MT-07, but I'm wondering whether to delay that until they stop salting the roads? Next thing is to sell the NC700X and then fix the Tmax and either keep it, as I do need something that can carry a bit of kit quite regularly, or sell it and get another SH300?

Normally my calendar would have filled up by now with tours but I've recently put everything on hold while I look after my Mum.

I usually save a bit of my annual leave and go away at the end of March to check out the daffs in Wales - not 'appening this year.
I've got a trip in May (I'm not critical to that trip so no pressure).
I've got two trips in July which I'm leading but there are others on them who are quite capable so not to fussed about them either.
I've not been to Yorkshire for a few years so if I get the opportunity to go this year, I will.
I think I've signed up to a trackday in September

I'm going to have to roll with it this year and see what happens - anything will be a blessing.

I've already got one training session booked for the beginning of April, another 'floater' that will depend on the weather plus a couple of enquiries about doing to training in other parts of the UK, which I'll see if I can work in.

I'm starting to get dates in the diary for talking to bike groups and clubs again too which is good - one definitely inked in for March.

And I'm on hold to be a 'virtual speaker' for the 2022 Shiny Side Up event in NZ again.

The auld Fazer needs a proper service done on it as its been run all winter with nothing more than a whack of ACF on the metal bits. The Ducati needs the exhaust valve removed as i am fed up with the servo "sometimes" sticking and sometimes not and its just a noise thing but when it jams it kills the power above 5000 rpm
