Fugly Bikes
Have we done this one before?
Bikes that were fugly from the factory (not ebay specials), or were ok at the time, but haven't aged well.
Inspired by Singleman's post on the Pembrey thread...
The 'Curvy' SV650...
Minus 10 RTTL points to anyone who posts the Bimota Mantra, it's too easy.

The late model GSX-F.
I think the earlier model is kind of retro cool, but the 00's one is just...
(Yeah, I know the pic is of the American version that they for some reason called Katana)

Re: Fugly Bikes
For consistently ugly bikes straight from the factory floor?
Those orange coloured pointy bikes from central europe are consistently ugly, although over the last decade theJapanese have been running them close with some god awful looking bikes. That Kawasaki H2,looks hideous & there's a few ugly looking Suzuki's & Yamaha's out there.

Re: Fugly Bikes
I'd agree with most of the selections on this thread, but feel it's a bit harsh on the SV650 especially. I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as some of the other Suzukis in this thread. And the first CBR600 wasn't really to my taste, but was a genuine game changer. Some of the fugliest bikes were those adorned with aftermarket fairings in the 70s and early 80s. They were truly hideous.

The weird thing is that they sold a little screen for it - which totally transformed* the looks.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 10:11 amYou robbed me of my ignoranceKungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 10:07 amTrinity765 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 10:05 am

Re: Fugly Bikes
As an ardent BMW owner, I totally agree. Not as gopping as the Mantra, but def. fugly

Re: Fugly Bikes
And the 1200ST had an encounter with the ugly stick too. Which was a shame, because it wasn't a bad bike.

Re: Fugly Bikes
The SV650 is perfectly OK. In terms of form and function it looks like what it is, workmanlike and practical. I suppose that's why I don't get the Adv bikes are ugly thing - a bike should look like what it's supposed to do and there's a beauty in that. Fast bikes should look fast even standing still, Advs should look like they'd survive well away from the tarmac, carrying a tent, stove and sleeping bag. I suppose it's funny when a bike looks fast and isn't or a traillie style or Adv wouldn't survive a gravel drive. There's also a pleasure to be had from a bike that will do stuff that it doesn't look like it should.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 10:10 am I'd agree with most of the selections on this thread, but feel it's a bit harsh on the SV650 especially.
However, the Hayabusa just looks bloated and fat. (Probably nice to ride though).
