NBT: The quest is over, the MT-07 is here!

Today I picked up my 2019 MT07 with just over 6k dry miles on. There is a slight bit more to it than I mentioned in the recommend me a bike thread. In short, the previous owner bought it as a retirement present to himself. It was his pride and joy, and as you've all seen and commented on, he adorned it with all the extras he liked. Sadly, he died, very unexpectedly, shortly afterward.
The bike became subject to probate and sat untouched in the garage until it could be sold. When it was able to be sold, the battery was flat and couldn't be recovered and a new one was fitted, but now the engine management light is on. Knowing this I still went to see it anyway. When I got there I saw it was literally like a brand new bike. Pretty much spotless everywhere and certainly the cleanest bike I've ever considered buying. Anyway, it started and sounded lovely etc, so I took a chance on getting the engine light sorted later on.
The first thing I noticed was after the NC700X and the long Tmax this thing looked tiny! It looked like it would be too small for me, but sitting on it, I was surprisingly comfy and didn't feel as cramped as I thought I was going to be? So the two obvious concerns were dismissed and I parted with my cash. Hopefully, nothing will come back to bite me later!
I set off on familiar roads and found the bike rode round town very well. The fuelling felt good, as weeksy had said it was. That was encouraging as part throttle/slow speed stuff is normally where I find Fi bike to be a bit dire. The roads were drying but messy and a lot of debris in the middle from yesterdays heavy rains. Opening up the throttle on such surfaces soon confirmed the bike doesn't have traction control!
Traffic was annoyingly heavy, but eventually, I got onto an open bit of road and gunned it away from the lights through the first few gears. It's quick, but not fast, iyswim? What I found out quickly is the bike is all about the midrange rather than top end rush and that suits me just fine. Short shifting and riding the torque line is ideal for my style of riding. It's early days yet, but this could very well be an ideal bike for me. Nothing else to report because, as I said, the traffic was heavy and I had the usual new bike nerves. I'm in the office for 4 days this week so I'm looking forward to seeing how the bike rides on my daily commute? I suspect it'll certainly liven things up!
