I paid less than that for an entire RD400 in the good old days.

I don't really mess about with hybrid engines now, the standard stuff is plenty and it's always less hassle than anything built in a shed, the standard stuff was built to last a reasonable amount of time, but that deteriorates as soon as you start to change it.

I've got a YPVS engine on my bench that one day I might put in my LC, but it'll stay as a standard YPVS engine.
Tbh though I'll probably just sell it, the standard LC engine is plenty and loads of fun, the YPVS engine is like a high rate ISA just sitting there growing in value - actually I've just googles ISAs and the top rate is 0.67%, whereas a YPVS engine seems to be going up at about 10% a year on what I paid.

My YPVS engine is now worth more than I paid for the whole bike 15 months ago.
