So with an ebay account and some cider a couple of weeks ago a bike was won....at under half the cost of my last mountain bike. Taken me a couple of weeks to areange collection but yesterday I did. It was cheap as it's only done 45k miles and has a wad of history including a recent suspension refresh. It runs and rides perfect and little corrosion. Toolkit is there too. Non abs so one less thing to worry about.
What's the catch, well there is one and there's a small piece of plastic and silicone where what looks like the clutch inspection window used to be. I cab live with that as it's not gonna cause any issues. It's also been painted at some point in it's life but again at this pricce point I can't expect much more than a bike that runs as it should.
I give you the beautiful....1150GS

clutch inspection window??
Can you do us a close up photo, I'm guessing you're referring to the flywheel timing hole? Normally there's a little rubber bung in that hole which
every bodger loses into the clutch housing and then panics about. (a little rubber bung at the bottom of the bell-housing is NOT going to damage a steel clutch mechanism).
TBH - I never even take the rubber bung out if I'm looking for TDC - I push a screwdriver or allen key down the plug hole.
I like the colour scheme.

Has someone clocked it and turned the mileage up?
Enjoy!

Nice colours. I love my 1150GS, probably the only bike I will not sell.

see if you can find something really naff, like a cork from a Bells whiskey bottle or something - just to rile up the Touratwats.

On the off chance you get to a point where you decide you've enjoyed it for a while but want to sell it, please consider selling it to me.
It would be ideal for my needs and stop me spending far too much on a Honda.

Chamfered heads are tres cool in GS circles ...
But subtlety different from the signs of a drop onto said heads ...

I quite like that paint job, beats the puke yellow colour mine was hence covering it up with a black tank cover
45,000 miles is nicely run in for them

A guy I knew regularly grounded pannier lids on a KRT. He bought an R-RS. Didn't end well.

I'm not sure he's the sort of person who'd sell a bike after 3 days
