In a classic stlyee, to wear with an open face lid... that fit over an average pair of prescriptions glasses.

Those do look like they might fit with a modern deeply padded open face helmet.Slenver wrote: Sun May 17, 2020 2:07 pm I have a pair of Leon Jeantet goggles, and I love them. Designed to fit perfectly with a Davida lid if that's any use.
Come in three sizes, the T2 model is for going over glasses.Various shades of glass available too.

Only thing against them is that the rubber edging perished a bit and came apart after a few years. I bought another pair though.

They're cool... but a bit spendy!Slenver wrote: Sun May 17, 2020 2:07 pm I have a pair of Leon Jeantet goggles, and I love them. Designed to fit perfectly with a Davida lid if that's any use.

Yeah, sadly they are

I've got them but was never that keen. Felt like I was looking out of tubes?Slenver wrote: Sun May 17, 2020 2:07 pm I have a pair of Leon Jeantet goggles, and I love them. Designed to fit perfectly with a Davida lid if that's any use.

I used to have a pair of bolle safety goggles (different from those) for when we went door kicking as protection from splinters and broken glass .....excellent kit and would happily use them on a bike due to the protection rating. I wish i had kept a pair back in the covers for when i left as my ones were badly scratched by the time i stopped using them.ajlog wrote: Mon May 18, 2020 3:40 pm Maybe not Classic but these look like a retro scrambler / racing style goggle. They are essentially safety goggles so good for impact resistance and have double lenses to avoid fogging.
They are not too expensive circa £35-40, but have a rubber type surround not a foam one like modern MX goggles so not sure how they'd fare over glasses.

Never really felt that but can see what you mean. Do you have the over-specs model or the 'normal' ones?Taipan wrote: Mon May 18, 2020 9:27 pm I've got them but was never that keen. Felt like I was looking out of tubes?
No, they were the non specs model. I feel he same with MX goggles though, they both take away a part of your peripheral vision which I find, slightly unnerving? I guess what I'm saying is try before you buy, if you can?Slenver wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 12:27 pmNever really felt that but can see what you mean. Might be something you get used to of course, esp coming straight from a big, wide visor. I used mine on a long trans-US trip and loved them. Dig them out in the summer too and, apart from the mouthfuls of insects, still enjoy them![]()
