Yep. Although the physical size might render it an object of humour with an adult on.

Re: FOR THE LOVE OF SCREAMING 2-STROKES: YAMAHA RD125 STREET TRACKER
THere are a few minor detail finishing touches it needs (blanking of rev-counter cable exit, changing os a few bolts and I'd also put a small front guard on there), but I love it, very nice.
It is one of very few of the mass of these street-tracker type things that I wouldn't be embarrassed to ride, in fact, I'd love to have it in the garage for a crackly bimble down to the shops/pub on a sunny day in an open face lid and I've pinged him to see if it's still available and how much he wants for it

I wouldn't even begin to know what this may cost... but there's no no doubt it's cool.

I suspect it'll be a silly figure but we'll see I guess- will update this if/when I get a response

I like it apart from the Meccano brackets and upside down forks

Looks like the left hand engine casing is an RD200 one (big alternator lump for the leccy start)

Aye, go on then.
Could do with a front mudguard and an airbox to compete but I like almost all of it.
Thought the tank looked familliar cos I had a TY 50 rolling chassis at one point.
But, I'm too big for one of those. Nice as an ornament but that would be a shame so ultimately no.
Thats the kind of bike some decent chap of a father needs to be getting for his offspring.

As much as I love the bike, one of my first thoughts was the build replicated on an rd400!

Re: FOR THE LOVE OF SCREAMING 2-STROKES: YAMAHA RD125 STREET TRACKER
I wonder if the RD200 engine would fit in place of the 125.
I reckon the 250/400 would be too long.

RD200 engine bolts straight in, the 250/350/400 engine fits, but mounting points are different, and you can't get the cylinder head off with the engine in the frame, I knew someone who put a 350 engine into a 125 frame and kept it registered as a 125 in 1985, probably not a good idea though as he hit a tractor on it and died.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 1:23 pm I wonder if the RD200 engine would fit in place of the 125.

Things you never knew but found out when you bothered to look RD125/200 crankcases split vertically like a single cylinder two stroke, RD250/350/400s split horizontally like Suzuki twins and Kawasaki triples.

Bit like that kid who put a CR500 motor in a 50cc Derbi and it killed him.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 1:35 pmRD200 engine bolts straight in, the 250/350/400 engine fits, but mounting points are different, and you can't get the cylinder head off with the engine in the frame, I knew someone who put a 350 engine into a 125 frame and kept it registered as a 125 in 1985, probably not a good idea though as he hit a tractor on it and died.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 1:23 pm I wonder if the RD200 engine would fit in place of the 125.

I rather like that!
