Scroll down a bit and there's a long list of where current models are manufactured.

I know the Fronch like Yamaha's, but I had no idea some were made there.

It seems like almost everything is made in Thailand these days.

Austria.

All over the shop;

the brakes and clutch are imported from Italy, the engine pistons are made in Austria, the bike suspension comes from Japan, and other electronic components originate in Mexico and China.

And then I assume put together in Murica

And that looks tidy

One was nailed together in a damp shed by miserable Brummies, one was hammered together by rednecks in a shed in Milwaukee and the other efficiently screwed together by hard working punctual fellows in Kobe

Surprised to see how many Beemers are German made,I was blaming other countries for the poor quality....

Triumph didn't have a factory - or a damp shed even - in Birmingham. Your bike was nailed together in Meriden

As for the auld 600 Fazer it was probably made in Iwata Japan as its 20 years old and before they started outsourcing to cheaper countries

The TDR and the R1z are both Japan made AFAIK. The XR125L is Brazilian, it says so on the the sprocket cover.

I've owned a Honda 1000 Varadero and 700 Transalp, both made in the Honda Montessa factory in Spain.

F800R made in Der Fatherland.

Likewise, though I believe the later 790s are being made in Thailand. Owners pages have reported annoying quality niggles on the early models so I don't think there's any particular advantage to "European workmanship". Outsourcing manufacture doesn't appear to present any problems to other manufacturers and no doubt the QC of the bikes is strictly controlled by the parent company. Hence the only real difference is the cost of assembly, which benefits the owners.

IIRC Olly on TRC had a Honda Innova and the Chinese domestic model assembled in the same factory. The Honda was everything you expect a Honda to be and the Chinese domestic model (Wuyang?) was as shoddy as you expect a Chinese bike to be. Only the engine was the same. Same factory, different standards, different bikes.
