Nah, he'll berate them for using dodgy Chinese engines, or something.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 11:29 am They look alright for what they are, I'm expecting excitement from our man in Dubai

Re: MV Agusta 5.5 and 9.5
Like the fag packet paint job on the 550 but assume that's a cheap Chinese engine? Actually is it gonna be a cheap Chinese bike made in China with some stickers and a premium price added by MV in Italy?
EDIT Shoulda read the link
The smaller 5.5 bike model been developed alongside Chinese firm QJ and features a liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, with a 70.5mm bore and 71mm stroke. Although no performance figures are available at this time, we’d expect the 5.5 to be A2 compliant, meaning a performance cap of 47bhp without need for a restrictor kit.

They don't look bad but according to those stats they're to heavy.
200 KG max for a middleweight.

Do my eyes deceive me or have they put a centre stand on the little one but not on the bigger one? Do they think it's too heavy to lift onto one?
They look ok if you ignore the paint job which is a bit of a mess - which is unusual for MV.

That's probably wet weight, 30 kilos of it is probably fuelPotter wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 2:49 am I really like the sound of the bigger one, but 250kg!
The 900 is going to be based on the 800 triple engine - which I'm told by my man with connections to the factory - has finally had all the issues ironed out and can be trusted. The weight is a problem but for me it would be a Chelsea tractor so it doesn't really matter.
If the paint job looks as good as an Elefant then it's just taken over the Norden and V85TT as the bike I'm most likely to buy if I buy any at all.

They look nice enough, but joining an already busy market. Comes down to dealer backup, parts availability, price and unknown reliability. If, and I'm not, I'd go Triumph.

Re: MV Agusta 5.5 and 9.5
The mad Saffer that manages the village shop bought an F4 for regular use and track days. Kept it at the back of the shop, ungaraged. I'll have to ask him how it's going but last time I saw him at the pool he was in rehab/physio after throwing himself down the track so it may not be pristine any more.
(Did I mention that he's mad? Clearly there's money in newspapers and pasties though ).

I've ridden the F4 and 312R on track and yes they were not easy.
Couch had a F4 1000 and suddenly went 2-3s a lap slower at Mallory.
