Here in the Northern Wastes it's usually a £10 cap.

In all my jobs in London that's been the usual, maybe £15 sometimes but never more than that. It's meant to be a bit of fun and for some people £40 is not fun money.

I'll have 16 rechargeable 2000+mAh AA batteries please.

(Don't bother with the fancy wrapping).

I found out the other day that rechargeable AA's are only 1.2v where as the normal ones are 1.5v. That's why rechargeables don't work in some devices.

I just discovered that too! Fortunately the device I just bought them for (which takes either 4 or 8) recommends them provided they're more than 2000mAh. But the price? Ouch!

(It's a trail/infrared camera which may be left out in the wild for a few months at a time).

It's not work, it's family

Alcohol was all I could think of too. Maybe a swiss army knife or something.

I work in an office but I'm comfortable with telling people that I don't want to participate

I work in an office but I'm comfortable with telling people that I don't want to participate, because I work in IT they all hate me anyway.
