Daventry country park Saturday 20th Nov

Post by weeksy »

Yeah really. This Saturday.

Me and Couch are meeting up 'in the middle' and in the middle is roughly Daventry.

There's a county park there with cafe etc. So cake and coffee and a bit of chat. I'll be coming up from Berks, he'll be coming down from Nottingham way...

Anyone else fancy it ?

92 miles from me. No good for back and it's a work day for me these days, if I was at work.

Otherwise I'd of been up for that, can't beat a good reason ride. The way it's going, the job will be binned and I'll be up for anything then. πŸ‘

102 miles straight down the M1.

It's the wife's birthday weekend so it would put my brownie points ledger well into the red.

Weirdly 102 miles for me as well, straight along the A14, what time are you going to be there?

Don't know for certain if I'll be there, and may be in the car because I might have to collect some FZ race body work en route

Yeah, AFAIK this saturday's clear for me so was just planning to spend it in the garage but sounds good, I'd be up for that, weather permitting (probably needless to say the last bit as if it's really cold and/or wet doubt that you @weeksy will be either! )

We might even be able to dragt Big Kev @2xtwins out on the tricycle too ;)

Anyone riding from the cold north I'll be going Melton, Oakham, Uppingham, Market Harborough, Daventry and getting there for 11 :)

Doubt if I'd make it for 11, means an early (cold) start, 12 is more likely for me.
According to Google Maps it's 2.5 hours if I stick to speed limits and go via the A14, so I think that's how long it will take me if I take in some twisty stuff on the way, so pick a route to St. Neots and then B645 to Wellingborough, followed by A45 to Daventry.

That's good for me, no one can tolerate my boring conversation for more than an hour.

Yep, this is do-able.

About 100 miles each way for me but as I'm staying with @Tricky tomorrow evening it's probably only 60 miles or so from his and, assuming we don't use the M40, there must be some interesting roads on the way.

The Tricycle should be the conveyance of choice but Rich has kindly offered to let me ride one of his - food for thought there....

As to the weather, forecast looks favourable - nothing spectacular but no rain and not cold for this time of the year. Hmmm....
