Motorcycle company seemingly makes a bike just for me...
To paraphrase Jeremy Clarkson, whoever made this has a picture of me on their desk and said "I'm going to make that bloke a bike!"
If I were to build a 'custom', I'd build that ^^^. Mass centralised, funny front end with carbon structure, electric powered....guess I don't need to build it myself now I didn't even realise it, but that's pretty much the bike I pictured in my head if I were ever to build a bike.

Digging the Rover Vitesse wood panelling effect.

Has it got fake walnut panelling like a Van De Plas Allegro?

Their web site just gave me a headache.

I think it's probably actually flax fibre composite looking at it, but I'm not sure. That is, carbom fibre type stuff but made with flax fibres.

I saw that (unless it was a previous model) in the metal at a bike show (and talked to the builder/designer - amusingly it wasn't getting that much attention against all the traditionally built customs).
It's an incredible piece of kit and utterly stunning. And yes that is proper veneer I believe, I asked, or at least it was 2 and a half years ago.
If I had the money to spare I'd have one for sure.
I think he said they sold it with a haptic jacket that taps you on the shoulder to alert you of vehicles coming up behind.

That's one of the reasons I haven't built such a custom
A 'proper' carbon frame and swingarms is gonna be into five figures all by itself.

I'm a bit surprised at the size of the brakes. I know it's probably fast and weighs a lot but wouldn't regenerative braking mean they could be smaller?

It looks like something from Babylon 5 (if the Vorlons rode motorcycles),
It looks great 'as an object', but as soon as a rider sits on it, it looks silly - it needs 'some' sort of fairing or screen or bodywork to assimilate the rider into the over aerodynamic profile. (but then, that goes for pretty much EVERY bike that is designed with those silly 'bodywork swooping over the bars' layouts).
Oh - and if you're going to ride it on the 'moody, misty mountain roads' depicted on the website, wear laminates, because you're going to get soaked.

Only works on the back wheel. AFAIK you're still not allowed to 'claim' regen braking either due to reliability questinons, so the normal brakes have to be capable all by themselves.Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 3:46 pm I'm a bit surprised at the size of the brakes. Re: Motorcycle company seemingly makes a bike just for me...
That could make life 'interesting'. Obvs there's no way of doing it on the front so probably needs a bit of technique if rear end braking is a bigger % than normal?Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 3:48 pmOnly works on the back wheel.Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 3:46 pm I'm a bit surprised at the size of the brakes. Brake by wire FTW!
That's why they use it in F1, to account for the variability from regen braking. From the driver's POV the brakes are always the same, the computer decides how much is regen and how much is conventional brakes. I think it's on road cars now, or it very soon will be. Only a matter of time now.

LOL. I can just see Kosh swinging a leg (tentacle/a bit of pure energy?) over that.Rockburner wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 3:47 pm

Lanky rider, or bike that's just too small?
Even bland can be a type of character

Quite small yes. The electric powertrain and combined engine/battery/frame monocoque would mean you can make it small and centralised. The wheels 'stick out' quite far cause everything is sucked into the middle.
I imagine all the rider touch points are in the 'right' place, there's just less extraneous motorcycle.
