so from last year crashing at donnington park to know i am almost ready to get the Triple back on the road. with getting parts and work and getting time to fit them its taken a while, but its almost done now.

i was after a black ASV lever to match the brembo brake lever, then i come across Uk race support and they sold a clutch perch and lever that matched so i ordered and fitted that. looks great and i think it will work well.

so today i fitted the Brembo RCS19 (i know that with abs it won't improve it too much but I've always wanted a brembo on a bike so though why now, and used the crash as an excuse to get one.)

had to connect a few wires.

thought everything was going smoothly until i went to fit the bang bolt, it come with a twin banjo instead of a single one, i tried using the one that was on there but it feels like the thread is a different pitch so i just ordered a new one that should be here tomorrow.

i think it looks good with the new levers fitted. quite happy.
last job is to bleed the brakes and then when the shops open, new tyres for it.

What else does it need?

brake bleeding and that it.

I've run the 19 RCS on my ten for a few years. Great bit of kit and a massive improvement over the stock Kawasaki item.

good to know, does the 10 have ABS???

Brembo do and always have used a different thread pitch to the jap manufacturers.
Kawasaki had an issue where they mis-matched the bore ratios between M/C and calipers.
Nothing wrong with either until you put them together on the Gen1 ZX10r.

No,not my version.

BTW,the Brembo gives a couple of options for lever feel and I seem to remember one of them was like an on/off switch. I tried it once and moved it to the other one!

So i bleed the brakes last night, first time I've ever done that, always avoided it as well, and to be honest i think its not that bad, i watched a few video to be clued up.

I put about 700ml of fluid through the system (did both callipers and master cylinder) and I did't see any bubbles, lever felt stiff, stiffer than i was expecting, i left it cable tied last night, going to check it now and hope there is not fluid pissing out from something I've not tightened

last job for later in to shorten the wires on the brake light switch, get them in heat shrink and tidied away. Once thats done, in theory it will be petrol and should be ready to rock.

not the most exciting video, but its exciting for me, its runs, it goes through the gears, test ride in a bit.

Well in the last few days I’ve taken it out twice, covered 350 odd miles and it’s been great. Really love been in back out on it (wife’s that not too keen though) slowly getting back I tot the grove.

Yesterday I got some Bridgestone S22’s fitted, so far there great.

noticed it’s at 13k, so I’ve booked it in for a major service for the 1st June.

That's proper riding.... even a long day out for me doesn't hit 3 figures in terms of miles.

I like to try and do some serious miles when riding, good fun. Plus it’s a 60 mile round trip to get to my mates and cousin

Treated it to a wash as well.
