Waterproof overjackets
I need a new lightweight jacket as above, to wear over my leathers for summer showers. The sleeves need to go over my waterproof gloves, otherwise water runs down the sleeves and fills the gloves. My problem is that the jackets which are recommended and reasonably priced have elastic cuffs which make it impossible to get my gloves inside - well, I can just about get the first one in using my other, non-gloved hand, but the second is impossible.
I've discovered that it is possible to put the gloves on first, before the jacket, and shove my gloved hands down the sleeves, which solves that problem. However, I then have to do up the jacket zip, sort out the front velcro etc with gloves on, and hope I don't need to pay for fuel etc as my wallet et al is now unavailable. I also have to put neck tube, helmet etc on before the jacket i.e. jacket has to go on last of all the gear.
Has anyone found a jacket with cuffs which open wide enough to get your gloves inside, and then can be sealed with velcro, or similar? It doesn't seem an odd requirement. I've now got 2 new jackets here, only one of which I can return as I wore the other on a wet ride without trying it on first, so can't return it; both have the same issue.
Ideas?

Most bike gear tbh is made by the cheapest bidder, a high standard of ergonomics is hard to find.

If you can stand being seen in camouflage I bought a new army surplus jacket off eBay. Army version of ‘gortex’, light, 100% waterproof, breathable, and at about £50 cracking value.

Is it worth ignoring bike gear, instead going for 'outdoors' walking jackets? They often have velcro wrist adjustment, but whether you would get a glove cuff inis something to try in the shop (or before riding in the rain )

Re: Waterproof overjackets
I do exactly as Horse suggested. I have a Dare2B waterproof jacket I wear over leathers during summer. Had it at Pembrey last 2 years for the wet ride to circuit and was going to wear it on track if the rain carried on.
Kept me warm and dry and on a trip away doubles up for a jacket when not riding. Think it cost about 50 quid and from memory is almost exactly the same as a KTM branded jacket Weeksy has/had/was looking at

Re: Waterproof overjackets
That's what's odd. The answers above suggest using a non-bikey jacket for a very ordinary bikey problem - summer showers when I'm in my leathers. I don't want one with a hood, and I prefer separate jacket/trousers as they're easier to get into. The most likely ones I've (eventually) found are from the Rev'it range, but stock seems to be S or XS which won't work, and several of them are reported as waist length when I really need hip length.
Why are these not commonly available? It's not like I'm being fussy....

I've gone for this https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorc ... Y1EALw_wcB Although not needed to use it yet its been on several rides in my tail pack. Wanted something highviz for commuting along the M11 to go over my black gortex jacker, although only been into the office once since I got it. At £25 its cheap enough.

Re: Waterproof overjackets
That ^^ was the first one I ordered, with high hopes, but I can't get my gloves inside the sleeves. Next was a Richa one at £40, and it's just the same. That's the reason I started this thread. I'm now on the edge of ordering a Rev'it one (£56), whose cuffs look different. I didn't want to spend that much but there you go.

I don't know whether you've come across the Held Rano waterproof jacket sold by SportsBikeShop?
It has velcro closure on the sleeves rather than being elasticated. It does have a hood that folds up into the collar mind. But for £50 might be worth a look. Gets good reviews too.

Blundering about trying not to make too much of a hash of things.
