I always question why so many track bikes have the front sprocket cover removed too. Sure i get it if you're swapping front sprockets regularly, but i bet most are not.

Used to take them off on trail bikes because they got clogged with mud and grass, see no reason to take them off on a tarmac bike.

That XR is nice apart from the tractor tyres

It's usually just two screws or bolts! It'll take longer to re-tension the chain on most bikes!
