QR code covid certificate not worth the paper its not written on

Post by rodbargee »

Beware folks, Master rodbargee is going back to carry on living in Italy where hes been over the last year or so, he's jabbed up here and has the qr code jab passport which it seems is not recognised in Italy and elsewhere in europe, so he cant use public transport or go to bars theres no plan it seems to get it working in europe at all. the Italians have a green card thing instead and the UK pass is not allowed Despite the fact he has EU residency in Italy He's beside himself as he cant get gigs or use public transport to get around. Nothing is in place to be able to convert it to one that will work over there.

That's real Kafka - he'd hardly get jabbed up again over there.
I wonder if Boris even considered reciprocity for covid certs. :(

the eu one if fine for travel but italy has its own thing for public transport and access to bars which is not whats on offer its specifically for getting into places and the eu compliant thing doesn't do it.

Just curious. What's to stop folk sharing these on their phones?

The NHS app needs quite a lot of detail uploaded such as photo ID etc so I'd imagine you'd have to go to some lengths to spoof it
It links with your NHS number and GP history - quite useful tbh - in normal times younacan order meds etc
I'm sure it has flaws but seems like a useful app.

I'm sure Big Brother is pleased with how well it's being accepted.

I'm just surprised it's a functional app for the NHS user that seems to function ok.

To be fair the UK isn't playing ball with making those fully vaccd outside the UK to use the UK system either. If you ain't regd with a UK surgery the NHS app says no.

You'd think there'd be a reciprocal agreement but currently neither -side- gives two hoots.

Can't get multiple countries to use same software.

It's not rocket science.
It's not like this wasn't going to be a thing.

It's just typical non cooperation.

I'm sure I read something over here that if you talk to a GP and then the health peeps that do the Carte Vitale (NHS type access card) then they've been able to add their uk vaccines to the relevant set up here and so get the Pass Sanitaire.

Could be worth talking to people like that in Italy to see if there is a way to get it sorted? (I don't know their system so might be pointless, but . . . )

Non cooperation with the EU? Now there’s a surprise.

I’m sure it will get sorted - eventually.

My in-laws had jab#1 in UK jab#2 in France. Our french GP made the paperwork work but it didn't sound exactly legit.

i've read a quite few people saying they'd achieved the same - as long as what the GP does gets them a Pass Sanitaire, it's ok in my mind!! Just thought that sort of thing might be possible in Italy, but I have no idea what systems they have!

I reckon the .gov.uk system have been pretty slick during the pandemic. Everything from the furlough claims, the self employment stuff and the VAT changes has been well thought out and well implemented. I setup the NHS app the other day and I thought the security was good and easy to navigate and it seems to work really well

Just applied for new passports online as well and that was also very slick.

2 days ago I saw a handpainted sign at the side of the road offering covid certificates for €22 !

I'm not saying it was definatley dodgy, but if you did want people to think it was, that's how you'd do it !
