I finally managed to get a good ride on a CP3 engine and loved it.

I also realise that touring may not be my bag or multi day trips, so a naked is back where it is.

The XSR is prettier to me, but other than Steve - anyone else have one and what do they like/ dislike about it?

Also am I correct in that there have been no changes, other than paintwork and a new one is on the horizon with the 890 engine?

Not getting a new one, but it may mean deals on the older ones, which suits me fine.

I would dearly love to have a centre stand again and cruise control - but I am getting lazy and those kind of things make a difference to me in the garage and on smart motorways!

I have one.
Must haves: flash, decent rear shock, sorted front end
The rest is just trinkets and baubles.
I get @180 miles to a tank on a spirited ride out ( I absolutely brimmed it, put fuel in while out, then brimmed it when I got home) but I now have a 17t front fitted.
Be wary of the 2016 model as the Speedo's are known to fail ( I know of 6) and the factory QS doesn't work with pre2018 iirc.
Good bike and plenty of bits appearing for them now!
Edit: you can fit the tracer centre stand if you must have one, and a guy in USA is in the middle of sorting out cruise control. He's grafted on the tracer l/h switchgear, he's now pondering how to sort the coding out for the ecu!

That's great thanks. I was aiming for the earlier bikes as they are cheaper, speedos failing seems surprising, aren't they the same as the xsr700?

Share the same plug, but that means nothing with Yamaha, as i burnt out a set of R1 clocks trying to fit them to my Fazer, they had the same plug too!

What mpg does that yield,out of curiosity?

I think i get 55mpg or so. (according to computer)

That's pretty damn good.The Zed is similar,which surprised me because it's quite short geared.

Last weekend I averaged 59mpg (actual measured literage)
That was the advanced group ride out, which was 'brisk' preceded and followed by 38km each way of banzai french backroads. ( I've got it on video, 17.22 mins journey time)

I ventured to the local bike meet tonight and was surprised at the number of XSR's i saw there. Not a bike i have seem many out and about but there must have been a dozen of the things littered about. The yellow speedblock Kenny Roberts painted ones looked lovely. We must have a decent Yamaha supply locally as there were fuck all KTM 790/890's despite all the fan bois on here that have had/have them

There were 3 of them parked about 20 feet apart, all part of different groups

The original 60ths and the 2020 SE are going to be classics/collectables in the next 10 years

The 60th also has the gold forks but I think that's all that was different. Aren't panels readily available?

Rear spring, rear mudguard, front mudguard, tank centre and the all important gold forks

A mate has an xsr and he loves it.

Like the rest of us he’s getting on a bit and after a lifetime of Fireblades/R6’s etc bike he can’t see himself going back to them again.
