Had pig of a job trying to get out of my one piece on Saturday. Short sleeved base layer meant everything had stuck to the mesh liner and living alone I felt my number was up. Images of my children stumbling upon their dad's contorted remains has got me thinking....

I've got some full length helly hansen lifa top and bottoms. So remove the baggy mesh liner that's like a fishing net and wear the lifas or spend a bit on something like this

I've had three of the EDZ undersuits, first got a bit tired and bobbly, the 2nd was used when I was racing (and got cut off), 3rd was used for racing and I still use it occasionally on the road.

Yes they wick sweat, etc... but the only reason I wore them was to stop my leathers sticking to me.

I love'em.

I think 151s make something similar.

The last two had the elastic foot straps, which stop them riding up and work pretty well.

I'd look for them on any other brand of compression kit.

I do have 2 peice leathers but son wears them when he's on the back. I'm also living the late 90s sports bike dream that my younger and considerably lighter self couldn't.

Will give the HH lifas a go as they're wicking it's just if they're thermal too. Looking for something cooling. Also I can wear it to go shopping down Lidl and catch an admiring glance or two.

I've changed all my suits over the last few years to chest zip. Warmer - but by the time you get to 5/4 trying to post yourself through that gap and contort your arms and shoulders you're fucked before you start!! (Even with the wonderfully supple neoprene that is now used)

Back to the OP - like someone else up the thread I always use Under Armour Heat Gear (Cold Gear in the winter) for 5-a-side, running, cycling and motorcycling and it's brilliant. Best base layer I've used.

Desperately hoping to get over to Famara at some stage this year. Apparently it's thinned out some of the shit schools (which is good, some were a liability) but the guys I always do a day or two with are still doing ok. I've just had another board shaped to leave out there - a copy of my latest UK board.

The edz got some good reviews so have taken a chance. Arrived yesterday and fits well, and I look stunning in it too. Might not wear leathers so I can share the view with the world.

Have to say I'm impressed. Felt a bit scratchy when wearing them but that may disappear with use as they get worn in a bit. Once the leathers were on you couldn't feel them with the exception of between my shoulder blades but that was minor.

Getting in and out of the leathers was much easier and they were more comfortable than the admittedly baggy mesh liner.

Weather started off a bit overcast but dad clear skies and 26 degrees at the end. Not too hot in use, nice and comfortable and dry when I got changed but only ridden for just over an hour.

Not cheap but very happy with the result.

I've got some underarmour heatgear tops, they work but to be honest the thin base layer I got from lidl is just as good. So long as it wicks sweat and evaporates it.

Me too. I have some Underarmour HeatGear, but my cheaper stuff is better. HeatGear seems like an Underarmour ripoff.

In contrast, I also have a ColdGear base layer (zero scratchiness) that works brilliantly for cool spring days, autumn and all but the worst of winter. I find Outlast or Merino is even better in winter but pricier, so the ColdGear has proved a good buy.

I use a variety of base layers from 1pc to 2pc items which make the job of getting the leathers off extremely easy.

My favourite is my recent purchase which is the Dainese 1pc base layer with a full zip to the front, makes it much easier for toilet breaks and the nervous pre race/track day poo.

Not so favourite is the 151’s, I have the 2pc set and the bottoms are brilliant but the top is shit imho.

The Alpinestar 1pc is good but funky as fuck for getting it on and off, bit of a knack to it but if you need a shite you’re running the risk of shitting yourself. Fine for a piss with the wee flap at the front. Downside is when your changing in and around the paddock and your tadger is handing out, unintentionally of course

I absolutely don’t wear a one piece

But, over the years i’ve tried loads of different stuff, my current favourite is the compression Amzsport stuff off hamazon, £15 for the leggings, £15 for the top. £30 in total, comfy and works really well.

Cheap gym base layers off amazon have worked all year under my one piece for track days. Coped well with 30 degree temps.
