Rossi Goes Red...
I always assumed he'd go to Yamaha but Italian team, Italian bikes and Italian riders is catchy.

Makes a lot of sense... they'll sell Merch for WAY more than they put into this on the VR46 name. Win win for Ducati...

Re: Rossi Goes Red...
Ducati buying up the grid in a bid to get that world title - just the eight bikes, or a third of the total entry.

Re: Rossi Goes Red...
Yup.
I read an article earlier saying 'The Prince' had asked him to stay another year in MotoGP.

I don't think Dorna or Ducati would like that idea.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 8:56 pmYup.

The money that was the named sponsor of most of the banners at a lot of F1 races over last season and this year and was the title sponsor for the Bahrain F1 race .....they are here to stay so might as well take some of their oil profits into our sports rather than letting the F1 prima donnas get it all

Damn I was hoping Rossi would go with Suzuki. Great to have more bikes but I'd have preferred them to be blue rather than red.

Re: Rossi Goes Red...
I wonder if there's anything in the contract about them having to have some red on them?
If not he could paint them blue

Re: Rossi Goes Red...
Actually it's funny cos I have no idea why I have a soft spot for Suzuki. I've never owned one in all the years I've been riding. I think it must be cos of Barry Sheene when I was really little and Schwantz when I actually started getting into bike racing. The GSXS 750/Thou are on my potential next bike list partly cos I've never owned a Suzuki. Re: Rossi Goes Red...
When Tech 3 went to KTM I expected that to leave a space for the VR team to step in to race the Yamaha satellite bikes under their colours. But with Rossi signing up to ride for a few more years in search of a title he was never going to win, I figured the Petronas banner was just to tide them over until Rossi was ready. Rossi moving to the satellite team seemed to confirm this as clearly he would understand the strengths and weaknesses of the team having ridden for them. But now it looks like Petronas have decided to stay on and Rossi has gone shopping. I guess Ducati makes as much sense as any, clearly they have the grunt and they're happy to supply bikes. Whether this was a conscious choice or Yamaha being unwilling to supply more bikes, who knows. Anyhoo, hopefully this will herald his retirement at long last, good luck to him in the new venture.
