Guessing, vented for hot weather riding.

And I'd be interested to know whether any meet the CE so can be legally sold as motorcycle gear.

IIRC, Paul Varnsverry, PPE expert, used to wear kevlar work gloves, e.g.:

I was looking at the very thing myself yesterday.
Decided it was a toss up between Alpinestars SMX-1 Air V2 gloves or Icon airform glove black tan.

In the end I bought nowt as A* are funny on their sizing and I want to have a try before I buy.
If PPE is your 'thing' they're both rated as level 1 against BS EN 13594

I have some Berik ones that look like that, they're over a decade old and I got them out of a sale bin even then so they won't be available now.
My lad crashed in them a couple of weeks ago and you can see the scuffs but they held up well.

I usually use decent quality motocross gloves if I'm riding about town.
The Lee Parks single deer skin ones are good as well, super thin, you do actually forget you're wearing them. And it's true what they say about them, every time you wear them they fit a bit better and get more comfortable, they mould to your hands.

Edited...they look a lot more substantial in the pictures than they actually are, they're paper thin and light and not as bulky as they look here.

I have a pair of Alpinestars Spartan mesh gloves which have been used for a few years now when it’s proper warm. As they are a shorty glove I tend to wear them locally and not at speed as I prefer my wrists covered in faster rides.

Popping to the shops and riding around behind CBT students is ideal for them
