Get an instructor for a session in the morning (I normally do the second session). There are a few places that they can really help with lines to make it easier and Wayy more fun! (like the line through Halls Bends to the Hairpin!!)
My favourite UK track for sure. Have loads of fun!!

You can take Coppice flat, don't back off, ride around the outside of everyone else, giving you the inside for Charlies.
Don't go straight on at the Gooseneck, hit the tyre wall, get knocked out and wake up in an ambulance on it's way to Grimsby A&E.

When you go out and think "where do this road join the actual track"
Well, you're already on it!

I was never fast enough through Coppice, but I did used to take a few on the outside through the Charlies!!

Friday I was too slow through Coppice, I used to be able to just close the throttle knock it down a gear and go round, for some unknown reason I've started braking for Coppice, but I still overtook a load of people between Coppice and Charlies.
Had a guy in front of me run wide on Chris, go onto the grass and fall off, I had to take avoiding action to not hit his bike.

Just looked at map....coppice and Charlie's do look like the fast corners. Also Chris curve on the powerout from park. That's what it looks like anyway.
Gonna be fun whatever, hope weather is kind. Looking well dodgy atm.

What the circuit map doesn't tell you is the altitude changes.
Coppice is quite up hill, then its down hill into Mansfield, then up the Mountain and back down to Barn and the straight.
It's the greatest circuit in the world, if you don't love it there's something wrong with you.

It's an awesome track. all the corners can be fun, fast and/or interesting!! I lost the blackbird at Mansfield a lot of years ago

But then got more instruction to help me actually take that corner better!! LOL
Even in the wet I loved it!! Didn't stay out the whole sessions or do the whole day on the trackday of the pics below, mainly cos I ran out of dry gloves and everything else was soaked through (despite wearing a motorway jacket!) and I was there again for the weekend, so needed to go get some stuff dried!!!!
Still awesome!! (I know - not the best body position but I had fun!!)

Don't mind wet too much, but that ☝ does look bloody wet. I do sometimes get the pre last session, 'quit while your ahead' voice in my head though.

Gooseneck is a nice gentle corner.
Approach about 120, knee hard down. Brake while leaned over, then chuck it on its side about 100m before the apex. Soon as knee goes down, you get back on half power about 20m before the apex. That will get you great drive down the hill.
Optional to lift the wheel for the camera.

Sat in spoons, Skegness. Had a fantastic day on track, slow start but soon got in the swing of things. A few reds but nothing serious. Built speed nicely. Someone dropped an oil filter in our group and that was that for a while. Sun came out and really started enjoying it. No real issues with any part of circuit. Loved the fast left, think coppice, folk breaking too soon, passed a few there. Nipped passed some before chicane,

towards mountain. Absolutely loved it.

Might of been park where oil dropped, carry speed around left hander.
Pete Boast was there today, showing a few around.. lives nearby apparently.
Ace day.

MY18 on a 69 plate. 2nd gen. New one out now for 2021. It's a decent do it all bike.
