Top 3 bikes you want to ride before you die
Prompted by @maccecht 's "best bike you you've ever owned" thread- it got me thinking - not so much about what I've owned, but about what I would most like to ride that I haven't already.
There are only two that immediately spring to mind for me, and they are both race bikes-
No1 would be a current decent Moto3 bike - don't mind whether it's a Honda or KTM , this one would do nicely ( albeit it would need different suspension settings )
Second choice would be an NSR500, ideally one of the later (99-01 so Criville/Capirossi/Rossi sort of era ) ones though so I'd stand a chance of getting it around a few corners
And my third would be a decent electric bike that goes well but also doesn't look completely hideous - until something that catches my fancy more comes along , the Energica Eva Ribelle would do it
How about you?

Re: Top 3 bikes you want to ride before you die
Oooooh there's a Question matey...
For me, one is one i've always thought i ought to own and try.
Secondly, again this is a 'want to own' as much as want to ride.
Lastly, again it's something i've ridden, of yours actually but again, would consider ownning.
I don't really have anything like yours above in honesty...Whilst i quite enjoy riding on track, it doesn't massively inspire these days, so it's more what it would ride like on the roads. HOwever the one thing stopping me owning an 1190 Adventure is the fact that at times i do the odd trackday and i think it may be a compromise too far for me.

Re: Top 3 bikes you want to ride before you die
I answered this on another thread - the "dream motorcycling day" thread or something similar. Basically I want a day with the SIC Petronas teams and to work my from the Moto3 bike to the Moto2 bike and then the MotoGP bike*
*and you all went "you aren't good enough" and I'm happy to admit that, but fuck it, that's the three bikes I want to ride!

Any 500 2 stroke GP bike that's running as it should, but the newer the better and preferably a Yamaha
A WSB spec R7
A WSB spec YZF750
The last two are possible, if I can talk Pete Beale into letting me having a go on his bikes, doubt if it would be at race pace though, I've got a promise from Pete of a go on an ex Keith Huewen FZ750 when it's rebuilt, but it will be parade laps.

Re: Top 3 bikes you want to ride before you die
I think it might- I've never ridden the 1190 , but did do approx 500 miles on a 1290 Adv in NZ a year or so ago- outrageougly strong motor for a bike of that size and weight, but just too big and heavy for me- probably not that much heavier than a Multistrada or MT10 in reality, but seemed LOADs heavier and much less manageable- I was excited about it before I had it and was even thinking "one of these could be my next bike" but it really isn't for me and I'd never want to own one now.
Yeah, that would be cool-what a day- if NSR500s (I'd be prepared to accept a C593 or 594 as an alternative ) didn't exist, that could be it for me toolostboy wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 2:53 pm I answered this on another thread - the "dream motorcycling day" thread or something similar. Re: Top 3 bikes you want to ride before you die
I'd like a good go (like 2 or 3 weeks worth of European tour) on a Goldwing.
I'd like to try a really lairy 2 stroke, preferably a 500. I would probably kill it by alternately bogging down and scaring myself shitless. I have never owned a 2 stroke.
I'd like a proper big hairy sportsbike, something with about 200bhp and capable of 200mph.
Best done in that order, if I go the 200bhp first I might not manage numbers 2 and 3.

I had a short 'pillion' ride in one. Astoundingly agile for something of that bulk.
Even bland can be a type of character

I was struggling for any I'd really like to ride but the Steve Burns Monster Bike would be worth a razz. I suspect it'd be flawed but funny.

Re: Top 3 bikes you want to ride before you die
Like many others a "proper" 2 stroke 500GP bike , just because
Probably a big Harley just to confirm they are as shit as i always thought but might be pleasantly surprised if i was riding it somewhere on the US west coast.
I have ridden most of the big sports bikes and know if i really wanted to i could blag a test on each of the latest ones so not really a "before you die" thing
If i wanted to pick then one of the TZ250GP bikes a load of my mates used to ride a few years ago in British Championship as they all raved about just how pure and superb fun they were
