Re: Manchester United fans are revolting
It's an interesting one if it sets out a method of showing the owners that fans still have a voice.
I don't necessarily agree with how they went about it, but I agree with their sentiment.
Ultimately I think fans need to vote with their feet, cancel season tickets, sky subs etc. Hit the owners where it hurts. In their short and long term revenue until they as owners learn they can't just dictate.
I think it's also a short term solution as the world is essentially a much smaller place than 50 years ago and I think if done right then a super League will eventually happen. Just not yet

Most stuff involving soccer 'fans' usually ends in violence.Nordboy wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 10:31 pm https://news.sky.com/story/manchester-u ... d-12293224

All to do with fact if they lost , Citeh would take the league ... it was just a performance theatre. Hopefully a big fin and loss of points coming their way - as it sets a real precedence for getting games aborted ...weeksy wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 9:46 pm It's an interesting one if it sets out a method of showing the owners that fans still have a voice.

Seems like a storm in a teacup allowed to happen because security and plod didn't prepare or react quickly enough. This was a tiny number of people compared to a match day

I suspect half the people who “support” Manchester United don’t like football - it’s just a brand and tribe to belong to.Potter wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 2:50 am The irony is that if these rioting halfwits were actually given control of the business that is the football club then they'd sink it quicker than the Titanic.
It's not a football team anymore, it's a massive business, I bet half the people running it don't even like football.
Those is the the ground were just drinking yobs - and listen to the head of the supported club complaining that som head their noses broken was churlish is the extreme. What a complete knob ...
I hope the Premier league fine heavily ....

Man Utd Fans- We don't like you owning our club
Glazer- OK, well it's not your club, it's ours, we don't give a fuck what you think, this is a business.
As Weeksy says, stop buying shirts, stop buying tickets, stop subscribing to Sky etc. THEN and only then, the 'might' listen.

What most of you are conveniently missing is that most clubs are bought by very wealthy fans rather than just the very wealthy. Hence they have normally bottomless pockets and genuinely seem to enjoy the club. These ones are just businessmen. It's a bit of a conundrum.

Re: Manchester United fans are revolting
If people feel strongly enough in their particular cause, then an element of disorder is likely where large group's are involved. Seen plenty on TV in the last 12 months or so, and it's usually the disorder that gets the publicity.
Police are there to keep it within the law, ( depending on protest ), but then the conflict between protester and police is often enevitable.
I fully support fans who are pissed off with their clubs owners but yes, its a shame when things get out of control and police and security get caught up in it, more to follow I'm afraid.
