Bikes you're window shopping
It doesn't matter if you'd buy them or not.
I keep getting drawn to this. The chances of me buying it are slim to none (it's in South Africa for starters... and sold quickly). But for me, iz very nice!

I've tried, really hard. I even rode up to Premier Bikes today, but didn't stop and just rode past.

I'm forever browsing Kawa triples and forever not buying any.

Mostly scratty looking shitters on Ebay, found by searching for 'spares repair'. Why I don't know because I'm never likely to buy any of them.

Unusually for me, I'm not browsing any bikes at the moment, am looking at vans (the 4 wheeled type) though, time to pension the old girl off and upgrade I think

I reckon the seat would be ok but I found the bars cripplingly low. Nice handling though - that lovely big lean Ducati stability. I'd worry it'd throw an expensive wobbly too.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 7:42 pm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233981215992

Re: Bikes you're window shopping
I did a session on an 'R' at a Llandow trackday once. I thought it was a bit pants, didn't go, slow turn in, but very very stable while over on it's ear, but I had just jumped off my really sorted Blade.Asian Boss wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 7:57 pm I reckon the seat would be ok but I found the bars cripplingly low. Can't say I've ever considered a Triumph. I mean ever, ever.
If I were forced I could buy a Firestorm. But I'm a long way from actively looking

I like that - although the graphics aren't to my taste. The two XLs I have are enough for me right now, apart from anything else I'm struggling for space in the garage for more.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 8:15 pm Here's one for you Pony...

Re: Bikes you're window shopping
I browse bikes that I used to own.
RD400E, XJ650, GSXR 750 SRAD.etc.
I get nostalgic and think I’d like to own one again but (GSXR apart) I suspect I’d be disappointed.

Looking at the usual old crap that nobody sensible would buy, I'm just glad I've run out of room for any more bikes, 4 is enough.

Re: Bikes you're window shopping
I'm not entirely sure why, and I'm not in the market for a new bike, but I do find myself repeatedly drawn towards the 2021 Yamaha MT-09 SP.
The last time this happened it was a KTM Duke 690 R, and we all know how that turned out...

Re: Bikes you're window shopping
I'm currently window shopping my own bikes that I haven't seen for a long time, they're in my garage/dining room in the UK, I have a picture of them on my desktop just to remind me that I own them.
I'm also window shopping an RC45.
It has been my grail bike since it came out, but two things stop me, the biggest one is the logistics are impossible, how do I buy a bike and have it delivered and stored to a place I can't get to, and the second is I think it might end up being a disappointment because I've built it up in my mind to be a fantasy machine and I doubt it could live up to it - then I'd have to sell it and run the gauntlet of dickheads you get when selling something like that.

They and their sort of bikes seem the easiest on the planet to sell, no-one turns up with a playstation 4 and a bag of Doritos for one !

I don't think so, you'd have to put up with rivet counters saying it wasn't the original chain lube from the factory and complaining about a non original oil filters or every tiny blemish.
Most don't buy them to ride, they buy them as 'investments' and that means they're total dicks about it.

I'm not sure I've ever seen an RC45 apart from being raced at WSB, I've seen loads of RC30s, and a VFR pretending to be an RC45, NC35s but I can't remember seeing a 45
